This annual holiday commemorates the release of the original Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, in Japan. Since then, Pokémon has grown into one of the most beloved and influential entertainment franchises globally, supported by a passionate community.
To mark the occasion, The Pokémon Company is inviting fans worldwide to tune in to a special Pokémon Presents video presentation. Scheduled for 2 p.m. GMT on February 27, 2025, this presentation will be streamed live on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels, featuring thrilling updates and announcements across the Pokémon franchise.
But that’s not all! Throughout February, Trainers can immerse themselves in various Pokémon Day-themed activities and merchandise, especially those featuring the fan-favorite Pokémon Eevee and its Evolutions. From local Play! Pokémon events to exclusive products, there’s something for every fan to enjoy. This year, Pokémon Center is celebrating the “Year of Eevee” with a range of new products spotlighting Eevee and its Evolutions. Fans can look forward to the Evolving Personalities figure line, hand-painted figures released in groups of three throughout the year, and various Eevee-centric bundles, kitchenware, and plush items. On Pokémon Day, participating Pokémon League locations will host noncompetitive Play! Pokémon events, offering fans of all ages the chance to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Pokémon video games, and Pokémon GO. These events will also include learn-to-play sessions for new Trainers. Participants can receive a special Pokémon Day 2025 League Celebration promo card featuring Sylveon, along with demo decks, TCG accessories, and promo cards from the Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest 2024.
Fans can also enjoy Pokémon animation as part of the festivities. The first 11 episodes of “Pokémon Horizons: Season 2—The Search for Laqua” are now available on BBC iPlayer, and the first season of “Pokémon Horizons: The Series” will be coming to Netflix on Pokémon Day. Additionally, episodes of the popular stop-motion series “Pokémon Concierge” will be available on the official Pokémon YouTube channel from February 21 to March 9, 2025.
