Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has just dropped a bombshell for Tekken fans: Anna Williams, the iconic “Scarlet Lightning,” is set to return in Tekken 8. This announcement came during the latest Tekken Talk Live, where the Season 2 roadmap was revealed, promising a slew of exciting updates and new content.
Anna Williams, who first appeared in the original Tekken game, will be the first of four new DLC characters, including an all-new original fighter. Season 2 Character & Stage Pass and Season 2 Character Pass holders will get a 72-hour early access to Anna starting April 1, 2025, with her official release on April 4, 2025.
Tekken 8, developed by Bandai Namco Studios Inc., leverages the power of Unreal Engine 5 to deliver breathtaking battles with meticulously remodeled characters and dynamic, destructible environments. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The new season will also introduce three additional DLC characters and two new stages, with releases scheduled for Summer, Autumn, and Winter 2025. This expansion follows the recent addition of Clive Rosfield from the Final Fantasy series, who joined the roster in December.
Tekken World Tour 2025 is set to kick off at EVO Japan this May, following the thrilling conclusion of the 2024 finals in Tokyo. This year’s tour will feature changes to the DOJO point system and Top 8 qualification, enhancing the competitive experience for players worldwide.
In addition to new characters and stages, Season 2 will bring significant updates to the Rank Match system. Leaderboards will be reset, and eight new high-tier ranks will be introduced. Players will be matched based on their highest-ranked character’s points, and the “Tekken Power” matching system will be removed.
