BANGKOK – T1 overcame a 1-2 deficit to raise the VALORANT Masters Bangkok trophy in their home region of Asia-Pacific against America powerhouse G2, last March 2 at the UOB Live in Bangkok, Thailand.
G2 started strong in Lotus with a 13-5 win while T1 managed to wake-up to tie the series in their own map pick of Haven.
In Abyss, T1 seemed to be on the verge of taking the lead in the series but G2 took five consecutive attacking rounds to be a map away from the Masters Bangkok trophy.
On Split, both teams had their share of consecutive rounds at the defending side to force an overtime with T1 securing a hat trick to force a deciding battle in Pearl, 15-13.
Taking an 8-4 lead at the half, T1 seemed to be on the verge of the title only for G2 to mount an impressive defending side, taking back to lead and put themselves at match-point only for T1 to rally behind a 10-12 deficit to force another overtime.
With both teams not backing down, in all came down to the wire as Kim “stax” Gu-taek finds Alexander “jawgemo” Mor to close out one of the best VALORANT match-ups in the history of the game.
Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh with an impressive stats of 94/96/30 and an ACS of 219 was awarded the MVP of the tournament.
