MANILA – Aurora has taken the top spot in the latest ranking of the MPL Philippines (MPL PH) Season 15 rankings after a perfect run in the first half of the season while defending champions ONIC Philippines seemed to have regained their bearings as they secured a much needed win.
The Super Family started the Sunday match-ups on rocky terrain as they succumbed to Twisted Minds. But ONIC Philippines managed to stage a reverse sweep after Twisted Minds surprised the defending champions with a quick game one victory in just over 15 minutes.
Game Two saw Twisted Minds on the brink of a sweep but the Twisted Minds’ overextension was punished by the Super Family to regain their composure and tie the series and secure the eventual win.
Closing out the first half of the season, Aurora’s win streak continued as Jan “Domengkite” Delmundo successful pulled off a back-door play to sweep Team Falcons PH, 2-0.
The second half of the regular season of the MPL Philippines Season 15 will continue on Friday, march 28 with Aurora versus Twisted Minds at 5pm and TNC versus ONIC Philippines at 7:30 pm.
