This annual event is a dedicated initiative to shine a spotlight on the incredible indie games being created across Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region, providing a crucial platform to connect these games with both enthusiastic gamers and those new to the scene. Over the past two years, Indie Jam has elevated over 50 games and attracted more than 3,000 participants each year, and this year promises to be even bigger!
Discover the Next Indie Gems
Indie Jam 2025 will showcase over 35 exciting game demos from talented developers across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Attendees will have the chance to play a diverse range of projects, including student creations from esteemed institutions like the University of Wollongong Malaysia, DigiPen Malaysia, Asia Pacific University, and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman.
Asia’s First IGDA Mentor Café Arrives at Indie Jam!
In a landmark event for the Asian game development community, the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Global will host its signature Mentor Café at Indie Jam 2025! Taking place on Saturday, April 26th, at Xsolla Curine Academy, this will be the first ever IGDA Mentor Café held in Asia.
The IGDA Mentor Café is a valuable opportunity for industry professionals to connect, share knowledge, and foster career growth. Mentees will have the chance to receive invaluable advice from experienced experts in their respective fields, while mentors can build meaningful relationships with the next generation of game developers.

Student Game Jam Puts Public Voting in the Spotlight
The excitement of Indie Jam kicks off with the annual Student Game Jam, challenging aspiring developers to hone their skills in game development and teamwork. The winners of the Student Game Jam will be determined through a combination of judges’ scores and public voting during the main Indie Jam event.
Attendees can directly contribute to the success of these up-and-coming developers by visiting the Student Game Jam area and playing the showcased games. The winning team will walk away with an incredible RM60,000 worth of scholarships sponsored by Xsolla Curine Academy.

Learn from the Best: Industry Talks Across the Region
Throughout the Indie Jam weekend, aspiring game developers and passionate gaming enthusiasts can attend insightful knowledge-sharing sessions hosted by industry veterans from across the ASEAN region. This year’s impressive lineup of speakers includes representatives from Critical Reflex, Toge Productions, Neon Doctrine, Passion Republic, Springloaded Games, University of Wollongong Malaysia, and many more to be announced!
Extend the Fun with the Upgraded Indie Jam Online Showcase
The Indie Jam festivities don’t end when the weekend is over! In partnership with SEAGamethetic, attendees can tune in to Indie Jam Direct, a special online recap of the showcase. Following the event, you’ll be able to wishlist the participating games on their official Steam or Itch.io pages from April 19th to May 11th.
Furthermore, After Jam returns in collaboration with The Cham Drinkers, Neon Doctrine, and Soft Source Publishing. From April 28th to May 4th, get ready for a week of exciting livestreams from ASEAN content creators featuring games showcased at Indie Jam 2025!
