Epic Beats for Epic Battles: Esports World Cup Unveils “Music of EWC” Recorded at Abbey Road

Music of EWC

The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has officially launched “Music of EWC,” a groundbreaking initiative blending the global cultures of esports and music. With the Esports World Cup 2025 fast approaching this summer (July 7 – August 24) in Riyadh, fans can now look forward to a custom soundtrack that will define the vibe, emotion, and energy of the world’s biggest gaming stage.

The centerpiece of this initiative? A four-track music suite recorded on April 27 at Abbey Road Studios — the iconic London venue known for hosting legends like The Beatles, Adele, and composers for Star Wars, Halo, and Final Fantasy. The studio’s Studio One became the birthplace of this sonic experience for esports, brought to life by music powerhouses 2WEI and Hollywood Scoring.

A New Soundtrack for the Global Gaming Arena

The Music of EWC project is a bold move by the EWCF to establish a unique, recurring audio identity for the Esports World Cup brand — a kind of national anthem for gaming fans around the globe.

2WEI, known for its thunderous trailers and game campaigns (League of Legends, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Call of Duty), and
Hollywood Scoring, famed for cinematic work with Riot Games, Disney Parks, and Star Wars,

have each composed two original tracks that will anchor the EWC 2025 music suite.

But this is not just a top-down project. EWCF is inviting global creators to shape the future of esports sound through an open competition on Audiotool, a leading cloud-based music production platform.

Global Artists Can Join the Game – Audiotool Competition Now Live

Two additional tracks will be selected from global submissions to join the Abbey Road-produced suite. Open now through June 8, 2025, the Audiotool x EWC Music Challenge welcomes creators to submit original tracks under Creative Commons licenses for a chance to be heard during the EWC’s seven-week-long spectacle this summer.

Winners will receive:

  • Their track featured in tournament broadcasts and digital content
  • 25 exclusive vinyl pressings of their song
  • A 1-year LANDR Studio subscription to elevate their music career

Why Music Matters to Esports

“Music of EWC is a natural extension of our mission to connect and celebrate talent across the esports ecosystem,” said Mike McCabe, COO of the Esports World Cup Foundation. “Music and gaming both have the power to bring people together — to move to the same rhythm, to share the same passion. This soundtrack tells the story of our sport.”

From League of Legends anthems to World of Warcraft overtures, music has long played a major role in gaming immersion. The Music of EWC initiative not only elevates the production of EWC 2025 — it helps define esports as a cultural movement, not just a competition.

Countdown to the Esports World Cup 2025

Following a record-breaking 2024 event — which saw 500 million+ global viewers, 2.6 million in-person attendees, and 250 million hours watched, the Esports World Cup 2025 returns to Riyadh with an even larger format and prize pool. The tournament will spotlight cross-game, cross-platform Club competition featuring elite teams and individual players from around the world.

This year’s edition is poised to deliver the biggest fusion of competition, culture, and community in esports history.
