This year, 16 teams—up from 12 in 2024—will battle it out through intense Best-of-Three (BO3) group stages followed by a single-elimination Knockout Stage, with a BO5 third-place match and a BO7 Grand Finals.
This shift from the previous BO2 structure pushes teams toward more consistent and decisive gameplay, emphasizing strategic depth and elite performance. It’s a sign of how rapidly women’s MLBB esports is evolving—and how MWI continues to raise the bar globally.
Global Inclusion on a Historic Scale
After qualifiers across a record-breaking 57 regions, MWI 2025 features the widest representation in the tournament’s history. Teams from Africa, Türkiye, and Mongolia will make their MWI debut, expanding the competition’s reach and showcasing the growing inclusivity of the MLBB competitive scene.
Standout contenders include Team Vitality from Indonesia—one of the most successful squads in MLBB women’s history. Sisters Michelle “Chell” Siswanto and Cindy “Cinny” Siswanto, featured in Amazon Prime’s Level Up, return with eyes on redemption after their 2024 loss to Natus Vincere PH (formerly Smart Omega Empress), who delivered a shocking 3-0 sweep to end Vitality’s 24-match unbeaten streak.

With its $500,000 prize pool—one of the largest ever in a women’s esports event—MWI continues to invest in the professionalization of female esports athletes. The champion will walk away with USD 150,000, with the rest distributed among the finalists.
Last year’s MWI shattered viewership records with over 2.5 million hours watched, according to Esports Charts. The 2025 edition is expected to surpass those numbers, thanks to the tournament’s elevated format and global participation.
