Final Fantasy XIV Online x Monster Hunter Wilds Collaboration Arrives This Autumn

Final Fantasy XIV Online x Monster Hunter Wilds crossover launches autumn 2025 with raids, hunts, and exclusive rewards for both games.

Two of gaming’s biggest franchises are set to collide. During Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live in Cologne, Square Enix and Capcom revealed a major crossover between Final Fantasy XIV Online and Monster Hunter Wilds, with content rolling out across both games this autumn.

The announcement was made live on stage by Naoki Yoshida (Producer and Director, Final Fantasy XIV) and Ryozo Tsujimoto (Producer, Monster Hunter Wilds), who gave fans a first glimpse of what’s coming when the collaboration launches in early October 2025.

Guardian Arkveld Descends on Eorzea

In Final Fantasy XIV Online, the crossover will bring the Guardian Arkveld into Eorzea. This fearsome monster will descend upon the MMORPG, setting the stage for a brand-new raid-style battle where players must band together to survive. More details on this content will be revealed in the coming weeks via the teaser site.

Monster Hunter Wilds Joins the Hunt in September

Meanwhile, Monster Hunter Wilds players won’t have to wait long. The crossover kicks off in late September 2025, ahead of its FFXIV counterpart. This update will introduce themed hunts, gear, and challenges inspired by the world of Hydaelyn. Further details are available on the official Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration page.

A Perfect Entry Point for New Players

With the collaboration on the horizon, Square Enix is once again highlighting the Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial. New players can experience A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood, including all updates up to Patch 4.58, completely free with no time limits. That’s hundreds of hours of award-winning story and gameplay—equivalent to three full Final Fantasy titles—at no cost.
