LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Announced – The Ultimate LEGO Batman Adventure Arrives in 2026

Dark Knight

Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, DC, and The LEGO Group have officially revealed LEGO® Batman™: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a brand-new action-adventure game celebrating the Caped Crusader’s legendary 86-year history across comics, TV, film, and games. Launching in 2026 on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2™, and PC (Steam & Epic Games Store), this will be the definitive LEGO Batman experience—combining TT Games’ signature humor with an expansive open-world Gotham City.

A Definitive Batman Story in LEGO Form

Developed by TT Games, the studio behind LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight invites players to relive Bruce Wayne’s journey from his early training with the League of Shadows to becoming Gotham’s Dark Knight. The campaign brings together iconic allies—Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul—while facing a formidable Rogues Gallery including Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.

DC’s Jim Lee praised the project, calling it a “love letter to Batman’s mythos”, while TT Games promised their most ambitious LEGO combat system yet, featuring fluid combos, gadget-based tactics, and cinematic takedowns.

New Combat, Open World Gotham & Co-Op Play

Unlike past LEGO Batman titles, this game introduces a dynamic crime-fighting combat system designed to reflect Batman’s unique fighting style. Players can string together combos, counter enemies, and unleash over-the-top LEGO takedowns. Classic Bat-gadgets like the Batarang, Batclaw, and grapple launcher return, alongside character-specific tools such as Catwoman’s whip and Robin’s line launcher.

The game supports solo play or two-player local co-op, allowing fans to team up as Batman and his allies while exploring an open-world LEGO Gotham City. From rooftops to alleys, Gotham is packed with crimes to stop, puzzles to solve, collectibles to display in the customizable Batcave, and legendary vehicles including Batmobiles and Batcycles.

For hardcore players, two new modes—Caped Crusader and Dark Knight difficulty settings—offer a tougher challenge than traditional LEGO titles.

Classic Suits, Fan Rewards & Collectibles

The game also embraces Batman’s history with unlockable suits and easter eggs. Players who sign up for a WB Games account will receive an exclusive Golden Age Batsuit inspired by Detective Comics #27 (1939).

A Celebration of Batman & LEGO Play

Warner Bros. Games emphasized that this title is built for fans of all ages, blending the dark legacy of Batman with the family-friendly fun of LEGO. The LEGO Group’s Fredrik Löving highlighted the collaboration, stating the game delivers “the intensity and authenticity of Gotham’s hero, infused with LEGO charm.”

With its sprawling open world, revamped combat, co-op gameplay, and a storyline spanning Batman’s entire history, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is shaping up to be a must-play for LEGO and Batman fans alike when it launches in 2026.
