Lost Skies Takes Flight with Full 1.0 Launch and Console Release Plans

Lost Skies

The skies are about to get busier. Lost Skies, the cooperative survival adventure from Bossa Games and Humble Games, is officially leaving Early Access and soaring into its 1.0 launch on Steam this September 17. Packed with new regions, bosses, creatures, and customization options, the update marks the game’s biggest leap yet. And for players on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, console versions are officially on the horizon.

What’s New in Lost Skies 1.0

With the full launch, Lost Skies expands far beyond its Early Access roots:

  • Four vast regions to explore – The original Outskirts has been reworked into three distinct zones, while the Midlands joins as a brand-new region. Each comes with unique landscapes and challenges.
  • 30+ new islands – Weather barriers like stormwalls and windwalls now separate regions, making exploration more strategic.
  • Community-built content – Islands created with the free Island Creator tool via Steam Workshop will populate the skies, offering endless variety.
  • New bosses and enemies – The Arbiter, a smaller but fierce foe, adds more frequent sky combat encounters. Each region also introduces its own Herald boss, while new hostile creatures like Thornets and Harpies keep the skies dangerous.
  • Ship customization – Expanded ship parts including new engines, sail controls, decorations, and more.
  • Crafting upgrades – Fresh resources and materials unlock new recipes, deepening the survival and progression systems.

To give everyone a clean slate, players from Early Access will face a full progress wipe, ensuring balanced progression under the reworked systems.

A Message from Bossa Games

Anthony Kyne, Head of Bossa Games, shared a heartfelt thank-you in the latest Skywatch developer update:

“It’s been an amazing experience building this game with the community from the very beginning. Lost Skies wouldn’t be half as good without your feedback, videos, island creations, and support. While 1.0 is a huge step, the world of Lost Skies is built to grow endlessly—the more successful the launch, the more opportunities we’ll have to expand it.”

Looking Ahead

While solo play will remain a core option, Bossa Games has already committed to supporting multiplayer for years to come, with ambitions to expand cooperative gameplay even further. A 25% launch discount will be available on Steam starting September 17, making it the perfect time for new players to take to the skies.

For console fans, Lost Skies will also be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with more details on release timing to be announced soon.
