Troublemaker 2: Beyond Dream Launches on Steam With Bigger Fights and Bolder Story

Troublemaker 2: Beyond Dream

The streets of South Jayakarta are calling once again. Troublemaker 2: Beyond Dream, the long-awaited sequel to Indonesia’s viral beat-’em-up, is officially out now on Steam, bringing with it an expanded world, stylish combat, and a mission to spotlight the strength of Indonesia’s game industry.

Developed by Gamecom Team in partnership with indie publishing platform indie.io, the sequel builds on the outrageous, action-packed charm of the original while elevating the story, mechanics, and scale. Players can now roam across a full open-world South Jayakarta, where band battles, over-the-top brawls, and absurd minigames collide in true Troublemaker fashion.

From High School Brawls to City-Wide Chaos

The first Troublemaker became a cult hit for its authentic portrayal of Indonesian teenage life, mixing humor, satire, and heartfelt storytelling with chaotic street fights. Troublemaker 2 takes that foundation and expands it dramatically.

This time, players follow Jordan, the scrappy street brawler, and Budi, the disciplined MMA fighter, as they team up with the Parakacuk gang and the Beyond Dream band. Their journey blends rhythm-driven band performances with brutal street clashes, unique weapons, and devastating finishers inspired by classic beat-’em-ups. Every alley, club, and street corner in South Jayakarta hides a story waiting to be discovered.

A Mission Beyond the Game

For Gamecom Team, Beyond Dream isn’t just about bigger gameplay—it’s about pushing Indonesia’s creative voice onto the global stage. Shortly after announcing the release date, the studio premiered a new trailer during Indonesia Game Day on The Lazy Monday’s YouTube channel. Alongside the reveal, Gamecom announced four upcoming mobile spin-offs, each developed by a different Indonesian studio, expanding the Troublemaker universe even further.

“We’ve always believed the strength of Indonesia’s game industry lies in the spirit of collaboration,” said Nanda, Game Director of the Troublemaker series. “With Troublemaker 2, our goal was to take everything that resonated in the first game and push it further—to create a world that feels bigger, more ambitious, but still unmistakably Indonesian at its heart.”

The franchise is also heading to the big screen. A live-action film adaptation is currently in development with LYTO Pictures, proving just how far the Troublemaker series has come since its grassroots beginnings.

A Celebration of Culture and Chaos

From rhythm-fueled band battles to satirical side quests and over-the-top street fights, Troublemaker 2: Beyond Dream embraces the chaos of youth while proudly showcasing Indonesia’s culture to the world. It’s a story of friendships, rivalries, and survival wrapped in humor and style that resonates both locally and globally.
