Get ready to unleash your inner dragon—because Heroes of Mount Dragon is spreading its wings to consoles. Developed by Quebec City–based indie studio RuniQ, the co-op side-scrolling brawler will officially launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and the Epic Games Store on September 25, 2025. An Xbox Series X|S version is also in development and will arrive at a later date.
Already a hit with PC players since its debut on Steam earlier this year, Heroes of Mount Dragon combines fast-paced, combo-driven combat with a unique dragon transformation system, delivering an action-packed experience built for both cooperative and competitive play.
Transform Into Dragons and Dominate the Arena
Set in the mystical world of Üna, the game casts players as chosen warriors bonded with ancient dragon eggs. These heroes, known as Dragon-Souls, wield powerful fighting styles and can transform mid-battle into dragons, unlocking devastating abilities that change the flow of combat.
The gameplay emphasizes fluid and expressive mechanics—players can chain combos, juggle enemies in the air, and seamlessly blend human and dragon forms to unleash stylish attacks. Layered systems such as magical power-ups and battle-altering curses ensure every fight feels fresh and unpredictable.
Built for Multiplayer Mayhem
Heroes of Mount Dragon shines brightest in multiplayer. With support for up to four players both locally and online, the game offers cooperative story-driven stages as well as competitive arena battles.
Players can expect colossal boss fights, stage-specific hazards, and chaotic arena showdowns where quick reflexes and clever strategy decide the victor. At launch, the roster will feature six unique heroes, each with distinct abilities, with two more joining the lineup in late October 2025.
Expanding Beyond Steam
With its upcoming release on Switch, PS5, and the Epic Games Store, Heroes of Mount Dragon is set to reach a much wider audience. RuniQ has also confirmed support for multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Korean, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese—making the game accessible to players around the globe.
The Xbox Series X|S version is in active development and will be announced with a launch window soon.

Heroes of Mount Dragon is currently available on Steam and will launch on September 25 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Epic Games Store. Xbox players will have to wait a little longer, but the dragon-powered chaos is coming their way, too.
