Belgian indie studio Aberratic is turning heads in the survival gaming scene with the reveal of a brand-new gameplay trailer for its upcoming sci-fi action RPG, Symbiosis. Formerly known as Land of Symbiosis, the game is now gearing up for a Steam Early Access launch in early 2026. To kick things off, Aberratic has also opened registrations for the game’s first-ever community playtest, giving fans the chance to experience the dangers of Sigma Century firsthand.
Surviving Sigma Century
In Symbiosis, players step into the boots of an A.S.T.R.A. operative, an elite fighter tasked with protecting a scientific mission—until a mysterious electromagnetic pulse sends your ship crashing into the alien world of Sigma Century.
Alone or in co-op, you’ll need to scavenge, fight, and build to endure. The procedurally generated world teems with dangers, from warped wildlife to devastating storms. Your mission: uncover what befell the missing scientists while fending off the increasingly hostile environment.
Key Features That Set Symbiosis Apart
Aberratic describes Symbiosis as a hybrid of 7 Days to Die and The Riftbreaker, offering survival depth with action-packed combat. Some highlights include:
- Base Defense – Every technological step forward creates electromagnetic pollution, drawing hostile waves of alien creatures to your stronghold. Survival depends on how well you fortify.
- Exploration – Journey through a range of biomes, each more treacherous than the last. Expect violent storms, deadly plants, and ever-evolving predators.
- Base Building – Collect resources to construct, expand, and upgrade a fortified hub. Unlock advanced systems and automated defenses to push back against relentless attacks.
- Boss Battles – Colossal symbiotic bosses guard the planet’s secrets. Overcoming them will demand upgraded gear, smart customization, and tight coordination with your team.
A Call to Players: Join the Playtest
The newly released trailer showcases alien landscapes, brutal combat, and intricate base-building mechanics, but Aberratic wants players to go beyond watching—they want them to join the survival challenge.
Fans can sign up for the community playtest via the Steam page, where details are available under the Events & Announcements section. Survivors are also encouraged to wishlist Symbiosis on Steam to stay updated on trailers, development updates, and upcoming playtests.
