Professional esports organization Aurora Gaming took the classroom experience to the next level as it introduced students of Upper Bicutan National High School to the world of competitive gaming. The special session, held on November 6, turned an ordinary school morning into an inspiring event that proved gaming is more than just play — it’s a path shaped by passion, teamwork, and discipline.

From Classroom to Arena: Esports as a Lesson in Teamwork and Growth

During the 45-minute open session, Aurora Gaming’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) pros and coaching staff shared their journeys — from humble beginnings to professional competition. They spoke about the rigorous training routines, the importance of communication, and how academic discipline complements their growth as athletes.

“It felt great to inspire the younger generation, and I’m glad the students and teachers got a clearer picture of how esports really works,” said Dylan “Light” Catipon, Roamer of Aurora Gaming PH.

The students engaged enthusiastically during the Q&A segment, asking about gameplay techniques, tournament life, and balancing school with esports training. The event ended with a cheerful meet-and-greet and group photo session, marking a memorable first encounter with professional esports players.

Teachers and Pros See Eye-to-Eye on Esports Education

Following the classroom visit, Aurora’s players and staff were invited for an informal conversation with the school’s faculty — a heartfelt exchange that emphasized the educational potential of gaming. Teachers noted how esports can nurture discipline, leadership, and motivation, aligning with values schools aim to instill in students.

This moment highlighted how gaming can extend beyond screens, encouraging young minds to pursue their passions responsibly while maintaining focus on academics and self-improvement.

Building Dreams Through the Aurora Gaming Academy Tour

Rada Ocampo, Team Director of Aurora Gaming, reflected on how the visit tied into the organization’s broader mission:

“After how our MPL S16 run ended, I was amazed at how the team managed to bounce back. Their passion for the game never wavered. During the school visit, our players shared their stories and inspired students to chase their dreams. They may not be champions yet, but their character already shows they deserve it.”

Through the Aurora Gaming Academy Tour, the organization hopes to continue bridging esports and education — empowering young Filipinos to see gaming as a platform for growth, confidence, and community.

Esports: More Than a Game

The success of Aurora Gaming’s school outreach reflects a growing movement in the Philippines to recognize esports as both a profession and an educational tool. By introducing students to real-life esports experiences, Aurora Gaming aims to break stereotypes and show that competitive gaming can foster valuable life skills like teamwork, strategy, and perseverance.

As the esports industry continues to expand, initiatives like the Aurora Gaming Academy Tour pave the way for the next generation of gamers — proving that with focus, discipline, and heart, play can indeed become purpose.
