Mega Evolution is making a fiery return in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. The Pokémon Company has officially announced Crimson Blaze, the next themed booster pack for the hit mobile card game, launching worldwide on December 17, 2025.
The announcement follows a major milestone for the app, as Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was recently crowned iPhone Game of the Year at the 2025 App Store Awards, recognizing its fresh, accessible take on digital card collecting and battling.
Crimson Blaze Brings Mega Evolution to Pokémon TCG Pocket
The Crimson Blaze booster pack marks the long-awaited debut of Mega-Evolved Pokémon in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Fan-favorite icons including Mega Charizard Y, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Blastoise arrive as Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, ushering in a powerful new era for deck building and competitive play.
Alongside these headline cards, Crimson Blaze introduces a wide range of new collectibles featuring research lab–themed illustrations, giving the expansion a distinct visual identity. Players can acquire cards by opening booster packs or through the app’s Wonder Pick feature, offering multiple ways to grow their collections.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Wins iPhone Game of the Year
The Crimson Blaze update arrives on the heels of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket being named iPhone Game of the Year as part of Apple’s 2025 App Store Awards. The accolade highlights the game’s global appeal and its success in reimagining the Pokémon TCG experience for mobile audiences, blending streamlined mechanics with the thrill of card discovery.
Holiday and Mega Evolution Events Coming Soon
To accompany the Crimson Blaze launch, a packed schedule of in-app events is planned for late December and January, giving Trainers even more reasons to jump back into the app.
The Holiday Campaign runs from December 25, 2025, to January 8, 2026, allowing players to complete festive missions and earn special rewards. Shortly after, the Mareep Drop Event begins on January 1, featuring special solo battles that reward B Series Vol. 2 promo packs.
From January 9 to January 19, the Wonder Pick Event will spotlight promo cards for Heliolisk and Buneary, alongside missions that reward event shop tickets exchangeable for promo cards. Later in the month, the Mega Latios ex Drop Event runs from January 17 to January 27, challenging players with solo battles that grant B Series Vol. 3 promo packs.
