The Portuguese Esports Federation (FPDE) and MOONTON Games have officially renewed their strategic partnership, reaffirming their shared mission to strengthen Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports in Portugal and align the national ecosystem with the country’s ambitious Esports Vision 2030.
Announced in Fundã, the renewed agreement builds on two successful years of collaboration and positions Portugal as an emerging hub for MLBB esports in Europe, while connecting local talent to the game’s rapidly expanding global competitive circuit.
Advancing Portugal’s Esports Vision 2030
The renewed partnership directly supports the Portugal Strategic Esports Plan – Vision 2030, a long-term initiative designed to establish Portugal as a leader in competitive integrity, innovation, and inclusion within esports.
The Vision 2030 roadmap focuses on four key pillars:
- Official recognition of esports as a sport
- Health, education, and player welfare programs
- Transparent competitive pathways with integrity frameworks
- Diversity and inclusion across the esports ecosystem
Together, FPDE and MOONTON Games aim to create a sustainable and professional foundation for esports growth nationwide, with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang playing a central role in that vision.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at the Core of National Growth
As one of the world’s most popular mobile MOBA titles, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang continues to drive massive global engagement. Approaching its 10th anniversary in 2026, MLBB has surpassed 1.5 billion installs and boasts more than 110 million monthly active users worldwide.
The game’s competitive appeal is equally impressive. The M7 World Championship, the latest edition of MLBB’s flagship M Series, recently became the most-watched mobile esports tournament in history, highlighting the title’s influence and its potential to elevate national esports ecosystems like Portugal’s onto the global stage.
MLBB Takes Center Stage at Portuguese Esports Cup 2026
As part of the renewed agreement, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will once again be featured as a flagship title at the Portuguese Esports Cup 2026, the country’s largest esports event.
Now in its third edition, the Portuguese Esports Cup 2026 will be held from June 4 to June 7, 2026, in Fundão, Portugal. Organized by FPDE, the event will feature:
- 20 competitions across 16 esports titles
- A combined prize pool exceeding €15,000
- Top national teams and rising grassroots talent
The 2025 edition delivered record-breaking results, generating 1.5 million impressions, 26,000 community interactions, and €170,000 in media value. With over 63 hours of broadcast content and 230,000 minutes watched, the event achieved a 126 percent return on investment for partners—cementing MLBB as one of its standout titles.
Strengthening Pathways From Portugal to the World Stage
Beyond domestic tournaments, FPDE has actively expanded Portugal’s presence in international MLBB esports. In both 2024 and 2025, the federation nominated the MLBB National Team to compete in multiple international events, giving Portuguese players valuable exposure against global competition.
The renewed partnership reinforces FPDE’s long-term goal of positioning Portugal as a strategic European hub for Mobile Legends esports, while supporting MOONTON Games’ broader efforts to grow MLBB’s footprint across Western Europe.
Pedro Honório da Silva, President of FPDE, emphasized the importance of the agreement, stating that the partnership demonstrates Portugal’s credibility as a premium esports market and reflects the community’s growing passion for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
MOONTON Games echoed this sentiment, highlighting the role of esports in community-building and youth engagement, and praising FPDE’s professional, long-term approach to ecosystem development.
A Stronger Future for Mobile Esports in Portugal
The renewal of the FPDE and MOONTON Games partnership marks another significant milestone for Portugal’s mobile esports ecosystem. By aligning national objectives with MLBB’s global competitive structure, the collaboration lays the groundwork for sustained growth, international relevance, and expanded opportunities for Portuguese players and organizations.
As Esports Vision 2030 continues to take shape, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports in Portugal is poised to reach new heights—both locally and on the world stage.
