Neverness to Everness Reopens Hethereau With Major ‘Co-Ex Test’ Updates in 2026

Neverness to Everness

The neon-lit city of Hethereau is calling once again. Neverness to Everness (NTE), the ambitious urban open-world RPG from Perfect World Games and Hotta Studio, has officially returned with a brand-new closed beta experience known as the Co-Ex Test. Available on PC and PlayStation 5, the latest test introduces sweeping new systems, expanded city gameplay, and deeper immersion ahead of the game’s full launch.

Alongside the closed beta, Perfect World Games has also confirmed that pre-registration is now open for iOS and Android, signaling a major step forward for NTE’s multi-platform future.

What Is the Neverness to Everness Co-Ex Test?

The Co-Ex Test is NTE’s newest closed beta phase, designed to showcase major gameplay upgrades and city-wide systems within Hethereau. While registration for direct PC and PS5 access has now closed, players still have a chance to participate by watching Twitch Drops livestreams and linking their Perfect World Games account for potential beta access.

This test focuses on making Hethereau feel more alive, reactive, and unpredictable than ever before.

Crime and Consequences Come to Hethereau

One of the most impactful additions in the Co-Ex Test is the new Crime Mechanics system. Players who commit illegal actions in the city will now increase their wanted level, triggering police pursuits and real consequences.

If captured, players are sent to a detention center, where they must choose between repaying their debt through work or attempting a daring escape. This system adds tension and emergent storytelling to everyday exploration, reinforcing NTE’s living-city design philosophy.

Driving, Vehicles, and Explosive New Freedom

Vehicles play a bigger role than ever in Neverness to Everness. The Co-Ex Test introduces:

  • New vehicle types including muscle cars, supercars, and motorbikes
  • Updated character companion and riding animations
  • A new first-person driving camera
  • Interactive vehicle actions such as honking horns and jumping off vehicles

Cars are no longer indestructible, either. Vehicles can now suffer damage, knockbacks, popped tires, and even explosions, with improved handling, physics, and expanded customization options bringing added realism and chaos to city travel.

Expanded Urban Activities and City Life

Hethereau isn’t just about anomalies and action. The Co-Ex Test dramatically expands urban gameplay mechanics, giving players more ways to live, work, and play in the city.

New activities include:

  • Fishing and casual leisure activities
  • Earning money as a taxi driver
  • Racing events and rhythm-based mini-games
  • Playing Mahjong
  • Working at coffee shops
  • Participating in the Pink Paws Heist, a new city event focused on resource plundering

These additions deepen immersion and reinforce NTE’s identity as more than just a combat-driven RPG.

New Urban Outfits for Protagonists and Characters

Customization also gets a stylish upgrade. The Co-Ex Test introduces new urban-themed outfits for the protagonist and main characters, featuring minimalist designs focused on clean lines, practicality, and modern fashion. The absence of flowing fabrics and exaggerated accessories gives characters a sleek look that perfectly complements Hethereau’s contemporary cityscape.

What Is Neverness to Everness?

Neverness to Everness is an online open-world RPG set in the sprawling city of Hethereau, built using Unreal Engine 5. The game blends supernatural anomalies with everyday urban life, placing players in episodic comedy-drama storylines where humans and anomalies coexist.

Beyond its main narrative, NTE offers an ever-growing range of activities, including vehicle collection and racing, home customization, business management, and social city experiences. The goal is a seamless, endlessly engaging urban world where no two days feel the same.

Platforms and Availability

Neverness to Everness is currently in development for PC, console, and mobile platforms. The Co-Ex Test is live on PC and PlayStation 5, while mobile pre-registration for iOS and Android is now open.
