VALORANT

The battlefield in VALORANT is about to get a whole lot louder. During the thrilling grand finals of VALORANT Masters Santiago, Riot Games officially unveiled Miks, the newest Controller agent joining the tactical shooter’s growing roster.

Hailing from Croatia and powered by sonic energy, Miks brings a rhythm-driven playstyle that blends battlefield control with team support. His reveal cinematic also debuted a new track, “Clarity (VALORANT x BUNT. Remix),” a reimagined version of the iconic hit by Zedd, remixed by rising DJ and producer BUNT..

With music at the core of his identity, Miks introduces a fresh, energetic dynamic to VALORANT’s strategic gameplay.

Meet Miks: The Sonic Controller Changing the Tempo

Miks enters the game as a Controller agent, designed to shape the battlefield while empowering teammates through sound-based abilities.

Known for his vibrant personality and passion for music, Miks channels sonic energy to synchronize his squad and disrupt enemies. His toolkit mixes traditional Controller mechanics like smokes with new support-focused and crowd-control abilities, making him a versatile pick for coordinated teams.

According to Riot Games’ developers, music was central to designing both Miks’ character and gameplay mechanics.

Jonny Altepeter, Lead Music Supervisor at Riot Games, explained the inspiration behind the reveal cinematic:

“With Miks, we wanted to lean into his vibrant sonic identity and build something that matches his presence in-game.”

The cinematic features BUNT.’s remix of “Clarity,” bringing a nostalgic yet modern sound that reflects the agent’s high-energy theme.

Music Inspired the Sound Design of Miks’ Abilities

The design team at Riot Games took a unique approach to crafting Miks’ gameplay audio.

Kevin Meier, Game Designer on VALORANT, shared that the process actually began with music composition.

“We approached the sound design of Miks’ abilities by first creating music, then extracting the most vibey elements and building the sound effects from there.”

Music also plays an important role in Miks’ personal story. Before joining the VALORANT Protocol, his life revolved around music, shaping the social, uplifting personality players will experience both in gameplay and future lore expansions.
