Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is preparing one of its most exciting updates of 2026. HoYoverse has officially announced Version “Luna VI: Song of the Welkin Moon – Rondo: Augured Homecoming,” launching on April 8, 2026, and it will finally expand Mondstadt northward with brand-new areas, a mysterious sky temple, and a new 5-star character named Linnea.

The upcoming update brings fresh exploration content, new story developments, and gameplay improvements — making it one of the biggest updates for Genshin Impact fans this year.

Genshin Impact Version Luna VI Release Date and What’s New

Version Luna VI arrives on April 8, 2026, bringing major content to Genshin Impact across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Android, and iOS.

Here’s what players can expect in this update:

  • A major Mondstadt north expansion
  • A brand-new sky dungeon called the Temple of Space
  • New 5-star character Linnea
  • A new boss encounter
  • New story events and mini-games
  • Quality-of-life updates and customization improvements

Mondstadt Expands North With New Areas and Dornman Port

One of the biggest highlights of Version Luna VI is the expansion of Mondstadt’s map. Players will finally be able to explore the northern region of Mondstadt, where peaceful flower fields transition into the busy trading hub of Dornman Port.

High above the region sits the mysterious Temple of Space, a new exploration-focused area filled with hidden pathways and puzzles. The temple contains multiple realms inspired by past regions such as Liyue and Sumeru, giving players a nostalgic yet mysterious new area to explore.

This update also introduces a brand-new boss:

  • Watcher: Fallen Vigil

Players will encounter the boss while exploring the wilderness around Dornman Port, adding another challenge for players looking to strengthen their characters.

Meet Linnea: New 5-Star Geo Bow Character

Version Luna VI also introduces Linnea, a new 5-star Geo Bow character who joins the roster in this update.

Linnea is a fae naturalist from Snezhnaya and is designed to support teams that rely on elemental reactions. Her abilities focus on improving the Lunar-Crystallize reaction, giving players new strategies for team building and combat.

Key features of Linnea include:

  • Off-field Geo damage support
  • Reaction-focused gameplay
  • Party-wide healing with her Elemental Burst
  • A companion named Lumi that boosts Lunar-Crystallize damage

In the open world, Linnea also rewards exploration by earning badges for discovering rare animals and natural findings.

Event Wishes and Returning Characters in Version Luna VI

The update will feature multiple Event Wishes across two phases. Linnea will debut in the first phase alongside a returning character banner, while the second phase will give players another chance to obtain additional 5-star characters.

Version Luna VI will also introduce a Chronicled Wish featuring Fontaine characters, marking a first for this banner type in the game.

New Story Content and Trade Show Event in Nod-Krai

Beyond the Mondstadt expansion, Version Luna VI also continues the story in Nod-Krai. Players will participate in a large trade show hosted by the Voynich Guild, where conflicts between merchants spark a new storyline.

The event also introduces several mini-games, including:

  • A cooperative aerial bombardment challenge
  • A fast-paced shooter-style mini-game
  • Special rewards including a free recruitable character

These activities are designed to keep players busy throughout the version cycle.

Gameplay Improvements and Quality-of-Life Updates

Version Luna VI also improves the player experience with several quality-of-life updates, especially for creators and builders.

Updates include:

  • Increased lobby capacity in Miliastra Wonderland
  • A new special effects editor
  • Improved skill customization tools
  • Enhanced UI and editing features

These changes are aimed at making the game smoother and more creative for long-time players.
