Prepare for a new journey, Travelers. HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version Luna I, titled “Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue,” is set to launch on September 10. This massive update not only kicks off a new year-long saga but also introduces the long-awaited region of Nod-Krai and reveals new secrets about the moon. Get ready to dive into rising conflicts, meet new companions, and harness ancient lunar power in your exploration and battles.
After concluding your journey through Natlan, you can now set sail north to explore Nod-Krai’s three distinct island territories. In the new Archon Quests, you will find yourself entangled in the growing tensions between powerful factions. Join the fight against the formidable Fatui alongside Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions and stand with Flins to resist the relentless “Wild Hunt.” Your path will also lead you to meet new allies in Nasha Town and uncover the Fatui’s plot to claim the moon’s power, led by the infamous Fatui Harbinger, “Marionette,” Sandrone. You might even encounter Columbina, “The Damselette,” who has returned to her birthplace in Nod-Krai and is now revered as the Moon Maiden. Meeting her may grant you powerful blessings for your journey.
New Powers and Playable Characters
In Nod-Krai, a new ancient elemental force known as Kuuvahki permeates the land. This power can be drawn from plants, mechanisms, and the land itself to overcome challenges. You can even take on the form of a unique elemental lifeform, the Kuuhenki, to glide swiftly along small patches of mist and Moonlanes. In battle, Kuuvahki reveals itself in both enemies and allies, requiring new strategies and granting certain characters the ability to unleash special “Lunar Reactions.”

Three new characters from Nod-Krai will join the playable roster in this version:
- Lauma, a five-star Catalyst user and Moonchanter, harnesses Dendro to introduce the new Lunar-Bloom reaction.
- Flins, a five-star Polearm wielder, commands Electro with Lunar-Charged strikes. As an experienced Lightkeeper, he can also hear the whispers of the Wild Hunt during exploration.
- Aino, a four-star Hydro Claymore user and ingenious inventor, brings her duck-shaped combat device “Knuckle Duckle” to the party. You can recruit her for free by progressing through the new Archon Quests.
The first half of the Event Wishes will feature Lauma alongside a Nahida rerun, while the second half will bring Flins, Aino, and a Yelan rerun.
Celebrating with New Features and Rewards
Version Luna I brings a host of new optimizations to make your adventure smoother than ever. You can now earn Adventure EXP through more diverse means, save more team presets, and preview locked affixes on artifacts. A major new item, Masterless Stella Fortuna, will even allow you to push your five-star characters all the way to Level 100!
To celebrate the update and Genshin Impact’s fifth anniversary, a lineup of special rewards awaits. Players can receive a free five-star character of their choice from the Standard Wish pool, 10 Intertwined Fates from a login event, 1,600 Primogems, and more. Looking ahead, HoYoverse also announced the “Miliastra Wonderland” UGC system, which will arrive in Version Luna II and allow players to create and share their own stages.
