Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone is set to deliver an even more immersive experience with the addition of a first-person combat perspective, new weapons, locations, and extensive customization options. The game, developed by The Farm 51, has surpassed its Kickstarter funding goal by over 200%, marking a significant milestone for the team and its dedicated community.
The developers have been working on Chernobylite 2 for over three years, and the overwhelming support from backers has validated their hard work. This project has been a labor of love, with the team’s fascination with the Chornobyl Zone dating back to 2014. This is their third project centered around this iconic location, and for the first time, they can create a seamless open world that players can explore at their own pace.
The successful Kickstarter campaign, which exceeded its target with six stretch goals, has unlocked numerous possibilities for the game. Players can look forward to switchable first-person and third-person perspectives, all the guns from the first Chernobylite game, including the fan-favorite Blaster, customizable weapons, additional locations for single-player and co-op missions, and a customizable interface for both perspectives.
The campaign remains open for Late Pledges, allowing more fans to support the project and receive selected rewards. However, physical rewards will be limited, so interested backers should act quickly.
Early Access for Chernobylite 2 begins on March 6th on Steam, offering about one-third of the final game’s content. This early version promises more content and gameplay time than the entire first Chernobylite game, setting the stage for an ultimate Chornobyl adventure.
Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone is a post-apocalyptic action RPG that combines free exploration of a vast, realistic open world with challenging combat, unique crafting, and team and base management. The game’s non-linear storytelling follows the main character’s struggle to escape the sinister Exclusion Zone and return home, battling the emanations of the insidious Chernobylite.
Players will navigate the Zone, which transforms from an intriguing landscape by day to a terrifying nightmare by night. The game features open-world exploration, character development, diverse combat options, and a unique planewalking mechanic that allows players to adapt their build and equipment on the fly. Team-building and base development are also crucial elements, as players recruit and train allies, develop their base, and negotiate with factions.
Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025. For more information, visit the official website and follow the game on social media. Preview copies are now available for PC; interested parties can contact Agnieszka Szóstak for more details.
