Pixel Maniacs and PM Studios have officially revealed that ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard—the long-awaited sequel to the cult-classic color-based puzzle shooter—will launch on February 12, 2026. Arriving just in time to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary, the sequel will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, both digitally and at retail.
Retail pre-orders are now live.
To set the tone, the studios have also released a brand-new announcement trailer, showcasing the game’s bold new mechanics, colorful chaos, and sharpened puzzle design.
A Bigger, Bolder Evolution of the Original Chroma Classic
ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard expands on the original’s award-winning blueprint with deeper puzzle mechanics, smarter enemy drones, and a richly developed narrative that explores the origins of Chroma Technology. Players will once again step into a clean, clinical test facility—but this time, the stakes are higher, the rooms are trickier, and the color-mixing physics are more advanced than ever.
Using the iconic ChromaGun, players must shoot and combine primary colors to manipulate environments, unlock pathways, and outsmart aggressive color-coded droids. Every room introduces new hazards—dangerous floor tiles, shifting structures, and unpredictable drone behaviors—turning each test chamber into a vibrant, brain-bending gauntlet.
Dev Insights: Dialing Up the Color-Coded Chaos
“We’ve taken everything the fans loved about the original—the witty dialogue, the fiendishly clever puzzles, and the saturated aesthetic—and dialed it up to 11,” said Benjamin Lochmann, Founder and CEO of Pixel Maniacs. “Dye Hard is bigger, bolder, and requires a level of color coordination and spatial reasoning that will test even the most seasoned puzzle enthusiasts. We can’t wait to see how wild the community’s speedruns will get.”
PM Studios CEO Michael Yum echoed the excitement:
“ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard expands the creative spectrum of our portfolio with a bold, brainy experience that stands apart from anything else we’ve launched. Offering a retail edition feels like the perfect way to honor such an inventive, fan-loved franchise.”
