Eclipse Breaker Brings Retro Roguelite Action to Steam Next Fest This October

Eclipse Breaker

Indie developer Jorge Rodriguez and Lunar Workshop Games are gearing up to showcase their latest project, Eclipse Breaker, during Steam Next Fest beginning October 13. Blending the nostalgic charm of 90s JRPGs with the intensity of modern roguelite gameplay, Eclipse Breaker promises a demo packed with new content, modes, and high-stakes action.

A Lost JRPG Hero Returns

At the heart of the game is Ember, a once-beloved heroine from a long-forgotten JRPG. Twenty-five years later, Ember returns to a world that barely remembers her—only now, her story has transformed into a relentless roguelite adventure. Companions from her past remain as spectral echoes, elemental gods loom as foes, and the rules of the Divine Realm have shifted beyond recognition.

Players will face battles where every moment counts. Enemies telegraph their attacks, leaving it up to quick reflexes and sharp decisions to parry, dodge, or unleash devastating abilities at the perfect time. Between runs, players can unlock allies, gear, and wild build synergies to keep every attempt fresh and rewarding.

What’s New in the Steam Next Fest Demo

The upcoming demo expands on Eclipse Breaker’s debut by adding fresh layers of content and challenge, including:

  • Expanded World and Story – Explore new elemental zones filled with tougher enemies and bosses.
  • Fresh Allies and Abilities – Unlock additional companions with unique skills that reshape combat strategies.
  • More Progression Unlocks – Experiment with new gear, upgrades, and build synergies.
  • Sharper Combat – Faster rewards, better balance, and clearer attack signals make each encounter even more intense.
  • Boss Rush Mode – A brand-new feature designed for 15-minute runs, perfect for players chasing “just one more try.”

For content creators, the demo’s soundtrack is cleared for streaming and capture. A special press preview build is also available with extended content for deeper coverage.

Inspired by the Classics, Built for Today

Eclipse Breaker aims to feel like a lost classic you just discovered, with modern responsiveness and depth,” said creator Jorge Rodriguez. “This demo is the best entry point yet, and we can’t wait to see new players and creators jump in during Next Fest.”

Wishlist Now, Play Soon

Players can wishlist Eclipse Breaker on Steam today and download the expanded demo once Steam Next Fest begins on October 13, 2025. The full release is scheduled to launch later this year.
