The global esports scene is gearing up for another transformative year as the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) officially opens applications for its 2026 EWCF Club Partner Program. Announced on November 18, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the initiative reinforces EWCF’s mission to strengthen a sustainable, internationally connected esports ecosystem through strategic investment and global community-building.
Building a Stronger, More Connected Esports Future
Carrying forward a proven support structure, the $20 million program continues EWCF’s dedication to empowering elite esports Clubs with financial, strategic, and promotional backing. For 2026, the foundation will select 40 world-leading esports Clubs, providing them the tools to grow audiences across fast-rising markets including India, China, Southeast Asia, and LATAM.
Applications are now open worldwide until December 18, 2025, giving aspiring Clubs a chance to join one of the most impactful esports support programs to date.
Eight Top-Tier Clubs Receive Direct Invitations
As part of the 2026 cycle, eight Clubs will receive direct invites for their outstanding performance in the 2025 Esports World Cup Championship rankings. Invited teams—pending acceptance—include:
- Team Falcons
- Team Liquid
- Team Vitality
- Twisted Minds
- Virtus.pro
- AG.AL
- Gen.G Esports

The remaining slots will be filled through the open application process. All applicants will be evaluated on competitive achievements, long-term club vision, and the ability to engage and grow their communities through creative, fan-focused content.
Modular Funding to Drive Innovation and Global Reach
Selected Clubs will gain access to modular funding, empowering them to launch innovative campaigns, strengthen their brand identity, and expand their business opportunities. EWCF has consistently demonstrated its ability to fuel club growth by fostering international exposure and deepening fan relationships.
Proven Impact: 2025 Program Results
Last year’s edition drew nearly 200 applications, with 40 Clubs ultimately chosen—19 of which were newcomers to the program. These Clubs collectively reached more than 330 million fans, including 125 million in China, showcasing the program’s massive influence on global engagement.
Some standout 2025 initiatives included:
- G2’s space-themed jersey launch
- REJECT’s original anime film
- Karmine Corp’s art-driven community program
- The Superfan Program, which brought 2,000 dedicated fans to Riyadh
- Open Innovation Challenge projects, exploring fresh revenue models and fan experiences
The program’s impact on competitive and cultural growth continues to solidify its reputation as one of the most influential esports development initiatives in the world.
Leaders Share Their Vision for 2026
Hans Jagnow, Director of Club and Player Relations at EWCF, emphasized the program’s commitment to shaping the future of esports:
“Through the EWCF Club Partner Program, we continue to invest in organizations driving esports forward. Our focus for 2026 is to deepen our global reach, support Clubs as they grow their communities, and welcome new audiences to the world of esports. This program is not only about sustainability—it’s about shaping the next generation of esports fandom.”
Executives from participating Clubs echoed the value of the program:
All Gamers Chairman Layne Le highlighted the program’s global impact:
“The EWCF Club Partner Program has allowed All Gamers to expand our global fanbase and competitive reach. From winning championships to growing our community, it has opened doors and elevated our brand worldwide.”
G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte praised the program’s creative freedom:
“We see ourselves as both an entertainment brand and competitive Club. The Program allowed us to experiment, connect with fans in new ways, and expand our presence across more titles than ever.”
What Comes Next?
Program memberships are renewed annually, reflecting the fast-evolving nature of esports. Importantly, acceptance into the program does not guarantee qualification for the 2026 Esports World Cup—each Club must still earn its place through in-game competitive pathways.
The full list of selected Clubs will be revealed in January 2026, following the completion of the evaluation process.
