Final Fantasy XIV

A massive new content update is on the horizon for Final Fantasy XIV Online. During the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast, Square Enix officially revealed Patch 7.5: Trail to the Heavens, set to launch on April 28, 2026.

The upcoming patch introduces a wide range of new content including main story quests, the final chapter of the Echoes of Vana’diel raid series, a brand-new dungeon, Ultimate raid challenges, and the debut of a new limited job: Beastmaster.

Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida showcased the roadmap for the Patch 7.5x series, highlighting major gameplay additions that will continue rolling out in future updates.

Patch 7.5 Continues the Story With New Main Scenario Quests

One of the biggest highlights of Trail to the Heavens is the continuation of the game’s Main Scenario Quests (MSQ). These quests will push forward the ongoing narrative following the events of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, expanding the world and introducing new story developments for players to experience.

As with previous major patches, the MSQ will unlock several new pieces of content and gameplay features tied to the unfolding story.

Echoes of Vana’diel Raid Series Concludes With Windurst: The Third Walk

Patch 7.5 also delivers the final chapter of the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid series.

The new raid, titled Windurst: The Third Walk, serves as the concluding installment of the crossover-inspired storyline that pays homage to Final Fantasy XI.

This large-scale alliance raid will challenge groups of players with new mechanics, enemies, and cinematic battles tied to the legendary world of Vana’diel.

New Dungeon and Trial Challenges Await

Players will also gain access to new instanced content in Patch 7.5, including:

The Clyteum Dungeon

A brand-new dungeon called The Clyteum will introduce new environments, enemies, and boss encounters for adventurers progressing through the story.

Enuo Trial

The patch introduces a new trial encounter against Enuo, available in both:

  • Normal Mode
  • Extreme Mode

For players seeking an even greater challenge, a new Ultimate Raid will also arrive in the 7.5x series, pushing raid groups to their limits with high-end mechanics and difficulty.

Beastmaster Revealed as the Next Limited Job

One of the most exciting announcements during the broadcast was the reveal of Beastmaster as the next Limited Job coming to Final Fantasy XIV Online.

Limited jobs are unique classes that feature specialized gameplay mechanics and progression systems separate from standard jobs. Beastmaster is expected to focus on taming and commanding creatures in battle, though more details will be revealed closer to its release.

Occult Crescent Expansion Brings New Zone and Phantom Jobs

The mysterious Occult Crescent content will also receive a major expansion.

This update introduces:

  • A new explorable zone
  • New monsters and Critical Encounters
  • Increased knowledge levels
  • Several new Phantom Jobs

These additions expand the exploratory gameplay system while offering new rewards and progression paths.

Shinryu Returns With New Unreal Trial

Veteran players can revisit one of the game’s most iconic bosses with Shinryu’s Domain (Unreal).

This Unreal trial scales the legendary battle against Shinryu to level 100, giving players a modernized challenge based on the classic encounter.
