Footgun: Underground Kicks Off on Nintendo Switch February 27th

Get ready to kick some serious butt as Footgun: Underground, the debut title from indie studio Turtle Knight Games and publisher CobraTekku Games, launches on Nintendo Switch on February 27th. This action-packed roguelike, priced at 19.99 EUR/GBP/USD, promises to deliver an addictive gaming experience where mastery of the ball is key. The game is also available on PC and Steam Deck via Steam for 14.99 EUR/GBP/USD.

Footgun: Underground is a unique roguelike where players use a selection of balls to neutralize nasty monsters. The balls are the centerpiece of the game, and players must utilize them and the environment to defeat opponents one by one. True to the roguelike genre, new skills and upgrades are available between completed levels to enhance the player’s character. With procedurally generated levels and enhancements from defeating bosses, no two runs are ever the same.

In Footgun: Underground, the ball weapon and kicking mechanics may remind players of soccer, but the gameplay is fast-paced and action-packed. The game features randomly generated runs with new challenges in every level, set in five different biotopes with 14 post-apocalyptic enemy types and unique boss monsters. Players can also loot and equip almost 20 different balls with various special effects and more than 20 playable upgrades. The game boasts a retro look with beautifully designed 2D pixel art.

Turtle Knight Games, founded in 2021, focuses on innovative and fun game ideas. Footgun: Underground received funding from HESSEN serious GAME, the funding program of the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport, and Housing. The game was released for PC on Steam in April 2024 and will now be available on Nintendo Switch in February 2025.
