Genshin Impact Version Luna III Ushers In Moon-Prayer Night and Durin’s Arrival This December

Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact fans are gearing up for one of the most anticipated updates of the year as HoYoverse officially confirms the release of Genshin Impact Version Luna III on December 3. Titled Song of the Welkin Moon: Interlude — “A Nocturne of the Far North”, this new version expands the ongoing storyline in Nod-Krai, celebrates the mystical Moon-Prayer Night festival, and introduces Durin, a dual-form playable dragon character that is already generating massive community buzz.

A Majestic Celebration: Moon-Prayer Night Arrives in Nod-Krai

Following the defeat of Rächer of Solnari, Nasha Town bursts back to life as Moon-Prayer Night preparations begin. This grand festival marks the Dameselette’s final evening before her ceremonial journey to the moon, setting the stage for emotional moments and rich lore.

Players can expect:

  • Festival game stalls
  • A collectible souvenir stamp book
  • New interactions in Silvermoon Hall
  • Special story moments with the Dameselette

But celebration soon turns to concern—because the Hexenzirkel arrives unexpectedly, bringing dire news of unstable borders and mysterious phantom sightings.

Hexenzirkel Takes Center Stage With Critical Revelations

For the first time in a main update, Alice, the legendary mage and mother of Klee, appears alongside Nicole Reeyn, previously known for guiding the Traveler through Fontaine’s prophecy. Their warning: Nod-Krai is experiencing abnormal shifts, and phantoms are spreading throughout the region.

Players will team up with Albedo, Durin, and the Wanderer to uncover the truth behind these disturbances. Completing the new Archon Quest rewards 500 Primogems for a limited time, giving players even more reason to dive into the story on day one.

Durin Makes His Playable Debut: A Dragon With Two Battle Identities

One of the biggest highlights of Genshin Impact Version Luna III is the arrival of Durin, a new 5-star Pyro Sword character who can switch between two combat personas.

Durin’s Dual Identities:

  1. Simulanka Form
    • Reflects his pure fairytale origins
    • Reduces enemy Elemental Resistance
    • Deals AoE Pyro Damage
    • Provides strong team support
  2. Abyssal-Infused Form
    • Focused on single-target burst damage
    • Boosts Vaporize and Melt reactions
    • Channels energy from the heart of the original dragon Durin

Albedo’s alchemy and the transference of the original dragon’s heart energy allowed this human-shaped Durin to exist—adding layers of mystery to his story. Completing Durin’s character quest will unlock more lore about him and the Hexenzirkel, as well as a unique reward exclusive to this update.

Hexerei Characters: Special Enhancements and New Team Synergies

Version Luna III introduces a major system expansion: Hexerei characters. Characters tied closely to the Hexenzirkel can unlock new abilities, modified Constellations, and enhanced combat effects by completing Alice’s “Witch’s Homework.”

Eligible characters include:

  • Durin
  • Venti
  • Klee
  • Albedo
  • Mona
  • Razor
  • Fischl
  • Sucrose

Hexerei: Secret Rite

When players team up with at least two Hexerei characters, the Secret Rite activates, giving the entire party a huge power boost.

Venti receives one of the standout upgrades—unlocking his hidden Archon-level ability. When Stormeye is active, his Normal Attacks transform into Windsunder Arrows, which pierce through enemies and may extend Stormeye’s duration.

All details can be viewed via the new in-game gadget, The Little Witch’s Dictionary. After finishing the prerequisite quest, players can also freely invite Razor, Fischl, or Sucrose to their team.

Meet Jahoda: New 4-Star Anemo Bow Healer

Also joining the roster is Jahoda, a new 4-star Anemo Bow character specializing in team healing and elemental absorption, allowing her to adapt to a variety of team comps and amplify Elemental Reaction setups.
