Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports is set to make history! The Esports World Cup (EWC) x MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025 will feature a record-breaking 16 competing regions, marking the largest and most globally diverse edition of the tournament to date.
MOONTON Games has announced the slot allocation for the highly anticipated event, returning in July 2025. This year’s competition will see Japan and Vietnam join the Wild Card stage, further expanding the tournament’s reach and competitive landscape.

Japan and Vietnam Enter the Fray!
The EWC x MSC 2025 Wild Card will witness Japan’s return to the international MLBB scene for the first time since the M2 World Championship in 2020. Vietnam will also make its Wild Card debut, marking their first appearance since the format was introduced in international MLBB tournaments last year.
The Wild Card stage will feature eight additional teams vying for a spot in the Main Stage, offering more regions the opportunity to showcase their talent on the world’s biggest multi-title esports stage. The EWC x MSC 2024 Wild Card’s impressive viewership, reaching 373,543 Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV), underscores the format’s popularity.
A Main Stage of Global Giants
The EWC x MSC 2025 Main Stage will host 16 international teams, including the Wild Card winner, battling for the championship title. With the inclusion of Japan and Vietnam, this edition promises to be the most competitive and regionally diverse in the tournament’s history.
In 2024, the MSC underwent a rebranding (from the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup) to reflect MOONTON Games’ commitment to global inclusivity. The EWC x MSC 2024, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, achieved record-breaking viewership, reaching 2.38 million PCV and over 29 million Hours Watched (HW).
“The addition of new regions in EWC x MSC 2025 highlights our commitment to fostering an inclusive MLBB esports ecosystem,” said Mike Chu, Head of Regional Esports at MOONTON Games. “This expansion not only increases the competitive level on display, it also celebrates the diverse passion that drives the MLBB esports community.”
The EWC x MSC 2024 saw the Selangor Red Giants claim victory, securing Malaysia’s first-ever MLBB world championship title and a significant share of the USD 3,000,000 prize pool. According to Esports Charts, MLBB was the most-watched mobile esports title of 2024, with over 475 million HW across all tournaments.
