Limited Run Games, the premier publisher of physical video games, has teamed up with Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) to bring the legendary GRADIUS ORIGINS collection to life with a series of new physical releases for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch™.
A Legendary Collection Reborn
GRADIUS ORIGINS is the ultimate compilation of the earliest games in the iconic GRADIUS series, featuring six legendary arcade classics: GRADIUS, GRADIUS II, GRADIUS III, SALAMANDER, SALAMANDER 2, and LIFE FORCE. This collection also includes various versions of each game, with the highly anticipated AM Show version of GRADIUS III making its console debut.
But that’s not all. GRADIUS ORIGINS introduces SALAMANDER III, a brand-new game that stays true to the 1990s aesthetics of the GRADIUS titles. Players will navigate new stages and collect power-ups from the SALAMANDER series, adding a fresh twist to the classic gameplay.
Enhanced Features for Modern Gamers
GRADIUS ORIGINS comes packed with new quality-of-life features, including quick save/load functions, a rewind feature, and Invincible Mode. A new Training Mode allows players to adjust settings like restart points, loop counts, and power-up statuses to perfect their skills. Additionally, a gallery feature offers music from the games, a selection of images from each title, and much more to explore.
Exclusive Physical Editions
In collaboration with KONAMI, Limited Run Games will produce Standard, Classic, and Collector’s Editions of GRADIUS ORIGINS for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders will run until May 11, 2025. Each edition offers unique features to cater to collectors and fans alike:
- Standard Edition ($39.99 MSRP): Includes the game disc, cover, booklet, and game case, with three cover options: GRADIUS II, GRADIUS III, and SALAMANDER III.
- Classic Edition ($69.99 MSRP): Features a silver game box sleeve in the classic KONAMI style, a 1-disc soundtrack CD, a double-sided poster, and a full set of cover art variants.
- Collector’s Edition ($179.99 MSRP): Boasts a light-up shadowbox with GRADIUS cover art, seven art prints, an exclusive development document and art book, a USB-powered 6” light-up marquee, a 4-disc complete soundtrack CD, and a full set of cover art variants.
