Blindflug Studios, the Swiss-Polish indie team behind hits like First Strike and Airheart, has officially launched their highly anticipated WWII base-building strategy title, Ground of Aces, into Early Access on Steam for Windows PC and Mac.
Marking the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the game immerses players in the role of a Royal Air Force commander tasked with building, managing, and defending a British airfield under siege. The full Early Access launch is available now via Steam.
A WWII Strategy Game With Heart and History
More than just a traditional strategy game, Ground of Aces offers a refreshing twist on the genre. It combines free-form base-building mechanics inspired by Rimworld and Going Medieval with the historical depth of WWII titles like Hearts of Iron IV. Players must manage everything from aircraft maintenance and crew welfare to air defense and base expansion, all in a visually striking art style inspired by classic Franco-Belgian comics such as Biggles and Buck Danny.
