Exciting news for otome fans! Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ is set to release in English for the first time on Nintendo Switch in late 2025. Pre-orders for physical editions will open with Playasia later this week, as announced during Eastasiasoft Limited’s Spring 2025 Showcase presentation.
A Modern Twist on a Beloved Series
Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ is a visual novel adventure that centers around heroine Chizuru Yukimura and the legendary warriors of the Shinsengumi. Unlike most entries in the series set in Edo period Japan, this standalone game casts the characters as members of a modern-day school in Japan. This Nintendo Switch release will include English language support for the first time, a highly anticipated feature for many otome fans.
Limited Edition Pre-orders
Physical copies will be available for pre-order through Playasia starting Thursday, April 10th at 11:00pm Hong Kong time (11:00am ET / 8:00am PT / 4:00pm UK). Only 2000 Limited Editions will be produced, featuring the game, manual, soundtrack CD, art book, mini case, Joy-Con sticker set, acrylic character standees, and a numbered certificate in a collector’s box.
