The Pokémon community came together in full force as Hobby Stadium hosted a celebratory send-off for its ten elite competitors heading to the 2025 Pokémon World Championships in Anaheim, California.

The public event, held on August 10, honored the players’ achievements and provided a morale boost ahead of the prestigious global tournament. Impressively, Team Hobby Stadium secured half of the 20 total slots awarded to the Philippine national team, underscoring the store’s role as a powerhouse in the country’s competitive Pokémon scene.

To further empower their journey, Hobby Stadium awarded cash incentives to help the players prepare for the intense battles ahead.

The Road to the World Championships

The Pokémon World Championships, now in its 21st year, is among the most celebrated gaming tournaments in the world. Hosted annually by The Pokémon Company, it brings together around 2,000 of the best players globally for a weekend of top-tier competition, with past host cities including London (2022), Yokohama (2023), and Honolulu (2024).

The tournament is strictly invite-only, with players earning their spots through exceptional year-long performances in the official Championship Point circuit. At stake: the iconic Pikachu trophy and the prestige of being crowned a world champion.
