The next major update for Honkai: Star Rail is almost here. Developer HoYoverse has officially revealed Version 4.1: “Unraveled for Daybreak,” arriving on March 25, 2026, bringing a brand-new story arc, a mysterious detective playable character, new activities, and a massive in-game celebration called Star Rail FEST.

Star Rail FEST Turns Planarcadia into a Massive Celebration
Following their arrival in Planarcadia, the Trailblazer and the Astral Express Crew quickly become the talk of the city after defeating popular streamer Sparxie during the Phantasmoon Games.
In response to the growing excitement, Pearl, the CEO of Pearluxe Corp, partners with the Astral Express to launch Star Rail FEST, a grand exposition celebrating the crew’s legendary interstellar adventures.
This large-scale event transforms Planarcadia into a fan festival featuring three themed open zones inspired by previous journeys:
- Belobog Zone
- Xianzhou Luofu Zone
- Penacony Zone
Players can board a special Pom-Pom front shuttle express through Interplanar Jump to relive iconic moments from past adventures.
Highlights include:
- Giant balloon recreations of Supreme Guardian Cocolia battling the Destruction Engine
- A dramatic recreation of the battle against Lord Ravager Phantylia at Scalegorge Waterscape
- A musical charge toward The Great Septimus accompanied by the voice of Robin
Another new exploration area arriving in Version 4.1 is Pearluxe Tower, the headquarters of Pearluxe Corp. Inside, players will discover mech-themed exhibits, interactive activities, and a showcase of the ultra-poseable model “Alloy King Pom-Pom.”
However, while the festival celebrates the Astral Express legacy, darker events continue to unfold in the background as the War of the Supplicants edges closer to erupting.
Meet Ashveil: The “Unreliable Detective” Becomes Playable
One of the biggest additions in Version 4.1 is Ashveil, a mysterious detective who now joins the playable roster.
Despite his typically laid-back demeanor, Ashveil becomes central to the unfolding investigation into a murder case in Dovebrook District tied to the Phantasmoon Games.
As the Astral Express crew digs deeper, Ashveil works to expose the conspiracy hidden beneath Planarcadia’s celebrations and deliver justice for the victims.

Ashveil is a 5-Star Lightning character on the Path of The Hunt and will be available throughout the entire Version 4.1 Warp banner.
Key combat mechanics include:
- Technique Ability: Stuns nearby enemies during exploration
- Team Buff: Increases allies’ CRIT DMG at the start of battle
- “Bait” Mechanic: Marks a target that reduces enemy DEF while active
- Follow-Up Attacks: Automatically triggers additional strikes when teammates attack the marked enemy
- Gluttony Stacks: Enhance Ashveil’s follow-up attack potential
The character’s combat style revolves around relentless pursuit, chaining attacks and eliminating enemies one after another like a hunting pack closing in on prey.
New Gameplay Mode: Wispae War Saga
Version 4.1 also introduces a completely new activity called Wispae War Saga, expanding gameplay beyond traditional combat encounters.
Within Graphia Academy, players command a variety of Wispae soldiers in tactical battles. Strategy plays a major role as players must:
- Upgrade Wispae units
- Use spell cards and capsules
- Counter powerful champions within the academy
Completing academy challenges unlocks new Wispae companions and additional matches against external challengers, offering deeper progression and varied gameplay.
Divergent Universe Expands with Arcadian Chronicles
The Divergent Universe system is also evolving with a new phase titled Arcadian Chronicles.
Key changes include:
- Waypoint Pass Cards that allow players to choose exploration regions
- A new upgrade system called “A Mask of Elation”
- Additional progression rewards tied to exploration paths
Meanwhile, returning double-reward events will help players farm important materials:
- Planar Fissure
- Garden of Plenty
Both events provide increased rewards for Planar Ornaments and character upgrade materials.
