Get ready to embrace your inner zodiac animal and dive into pure party-game pandemonium—Lunars, the vibrant multiplayer chaos-fest, is officially launching on Steam Early Access on January 19, 2026. Packed with four dynamic game boards, 30 wild mini-games, and fully customizable modes, Lunars is shaping up to be one of next year’s most replayable and community-driven party games.
Developed by the passionate two-person indie team at Anubis Arts in Western Australia, Lunars enters a short Early Access period not due to incompleteness, but because—after a year of extensive playtesting—there’s simply so much content to refine with the community. With more boards, modes, and mini-games planned for future updates, the developers are inviting players to help shape the ultimate zodiac party experience.
Watch the latest trailer to see the mayhem in action—and be warned: it’s packed with pure cuteness, plushie energy, and delightful chaos.
A Zodiac Party Game Where Chaos Meets Competition
Lunars brings together up to 4 local players and as many as 8 online, creating a hybrid multiplayer system perfect for living-room couch gaming or international lobby mayhem. The game is built around fast-paced mini-games, customizable rules, strategic item use, and chaotic twists that turn every round into unpredictable madness.
Players choose from adorable plush versions of the twelve lunar zodiac animals—whether you’re a cunning Rat, a brave Tiger, or a mischievous Monkey—and each brings unique charm to the battlefield of rivalry and ridiculousness.
Developer Waleed Agawani shares the heart behind the project:
“Lunars already feels like a full party package, and we are really proud of where it is at. My brother and I have poured a lot of love into this game, and Early Access gives us a chance to refine and add to it with the community. We want to see how players have fun with it, what moments stand out for them, and what new ideas we can bring to life. We are aiming for a full 1.0 launch in 2026, and we hope everyone joins us on the road there.”
Key Features of Lunars
Multiple Ways to Play
Lunars offers gameplay flexibility suited for any style of party gaming. Local multiplayer sessions accommodate up to four players, while online multiplayer expands the chaos to eight. The hybrid system also allows local groups to connect online, creating full lobbies with friends scattered across the globe.
Players can switch between Classic turn-based play, the chaotic simultaneous-turn Blitz mode, or a dedicated mini-game mode perfect for quick sessions. The game also includes fun modifiers such as Big Head mode, Flat mode, custom dice settings, and adjustable Jade Button costs.
Endless Entertainment Across Four Boards
With 30 chaotic mini-games that range from fast-paced button-mash battles to clever strategy challenges, Lunars ensures no match ever feels the same.
Four unique game boards bring their own personalities and surprises, while hundreds of customization items let players create the perfect zodiac plushie to wreak havoc with. Strategic items and power-ups add additional layers of tension—prepare for sabotage, sudden upsets, and plenty of dice-blaming among friends.
Designed for Streamers and Party Game Fans
Blitz mode transforms typical board game pacing by letting everyone take turns simultaneously, while Classic mode delivers the chilled-out style party game enthusiasts love.
Even knocked-out players remain active as troublemakers, keeping the gameplay engaging from start to finish. Twitch integration further ensures that streamers and viewers can create unforgettable community-driven chaos.
