The battlefield is about to heat up as MOONTON Games officially announces the first-ever Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) international tournament. The road to glory begins this September 12 with the launch of MCGG Rising Stars (MRS)—a brand-new in-game competition feature that serves as the gateway for players to qualify for the global stage.
Rising Stars Opens the Path to International Glory
Open to all players with no registration required, Rising Stars is designed to make competitive play more accessible than ever. The feature includes six stages of qualifiers, where players can test their strategy, adaptability, and nerves of steel to advance toward the Division Finals.
The qualifiers will run every weekend from September 12 to October 19, 2025, across seven divisions: Asia, Eastern Europe & Central Asia, Europe, Indonesia, Latin America, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Each stage offers rewards like exclusive titles and a chance to unlock a special skin, making the climb as rewarding as it is challenging.
Winners from each division will advance to the Division Finals, where the best of the best will secure their place in the inaugural MCGG international tournament, competing to be crowned the first-ever world champion of Magic Chess: Go Go.
Building on Competitive Momentum
MCGG has steadily grown its esports ecosystem, starting with the Indonesia Community Tournament (MCCT ID) earlier this year. The latest edition, MCCT ID III, drew over 1 million views across streaming platforms, showing just how strong the community’s appetite for competitive play has become. Rising Stars builds directly on this momentum, expanding the competition to a truly global scale.
“The upcoming international tournament is our most exciting stage yet,” said Gao “Skyhook” Chong, Producer of MCGG at MOONTON Games. “With Rising Stars, every player has a chance to compete on the world stage. It reflects our vision of a fair and engaging ecosystem where strategy and fun come together.”
A Galaxy of Competitive Possibilities
The launch of Rising Stars comes alongside Season 3: Cosmic Traders, MCGG’s most competitive season yet. The update introduces a commander ranking system, a redesigned bidding arena, and overhauled synergies, giving players fresh tactical options in every match.
With these updates, MCGG solidifies its place as one of the most dynamic mobile strategy games, blending accessibility with deep competitive play. Whether you’re a seasoned tactician or a newcomer, Rising Stars is your chance to shine.
