The multiverse trembles as Marvel Rivals dives headfirst into Season 3.5: The Abyss Awakens, launching August 8, 2025. Marvel Games and NetEase Games are pulling back the curtain on a game-changing update that brings Blade into battle, debuts the Throne of Knull map, introduces a chaotic Resource Rumble game mode, and shakes up Team-Up Abilities across the board.
And that’s just the beginning.
π§ Blade Slashes Into the Roster
The long-anticipated Daywalker, Blade, joins the hero lineup as a Duelist, bringing raw power and style. Armed with a shotgun and his Ancestral Sword, Blade dominates mid-to-close range, reducing healing effects and slashing through enemies with dhampir fury.
His ultimate move unleashes the Sword of Dracula, turning him into an unstoppable whirlwind of damage. Expect him to be one of the fiercest close-quarters heroes yetβbalanced, aggressive, and built for high-pressure skirmishes.
π New Map: Throne of Knull + Game Mode: Resource Rumble
Prepare for carnage in the Throne of Knull, a chilling new map launching August 22 alongside Resource Rumble, a fresh objective-based mode that focuses on collecting resources under pressure. It will debut in Quick Match for player feedback before rolling out in Competitive play.
π₯ Full gameplay deep dive coming soon.
π‘οΈ Cleaner Matches, Tougher Penalties
In a continued effort to make Marvel Rivals more competitive and inclusive, Operation: Shield the Community introduces several new systems:
- Voice chat moderation using AI + human review
- Custom chat filters for text messages
- Stronger penalties for Competitive quitting, including longer bans and point deductions
- Partial point compensation for players who stick through uneven matches
- Faster ban appeal process
The team is doubling down on creating a positive, fair environment, giving players more control over their experience while discouraging toxic behavior.
