Marvel Rivals Season 5 “Love Is a Battlefield” Launches with Gambit, Rogue, and New Times Square Map

Marvel Rivals

The battle for love and glory begins today as Marvel Games and NetEase Games officially launch Marvel Rivals Season 5: Love Is a Battlefield. The highly anticipated new season introduces Gambit as a playable hero, a brand-new Times Square map, exciting gameplay modes, cross-platform progression, and more.

As Marvel Rivals celebrates its first anniversary, the game continues to expand its roster and features, reaffirming its place as one of the most dynamic and community-driven PvP shooters in the Marvel Universe.

Love Meets Mayhem: Gambit and Rogue Take the Spotlight

Season 5 of Marvel Rivals continues the story of Gambit and Rogue, two of Marvel’s most beloved power couples. After their dream wedding was derailed by the Timestream Entanglement, Gambit seeks to make it up to Rogue with a cosmic honeymoon unlike any other. But as their journey takes them to a world built by the Elders of the Universe, their love will be put to the ultimate test.

The star of the season, Gambit (Strategist), brings a unique and stylish playstyle that combines kinetic energy control and precision combat. Using his Chronovium-infused cards, Gambit can heal allies, cleanse debuffs, or unleash devastating area attacks. His Ultimate Ability charges his allies’ jumps and attacks with kinetic explosions — perfect for high-energy team fights.

Welcome to Times Square: A New Non-Combat Social Hub

Launching today, the Times Square Map offers a fresh way for players to interact and unwind outside the heat of battle. This non-combat space can host up to 100 players simultaneously, allowing fans to hang out, dance, read, or simply take in the bright lights of a beautifully rendered New York setting.

The Marvel Rivals team created this social hub in response to the growing popularity of community meetups in previous maps. Now, players have an official hangout spot to celebrate victories, share creative content, and connect with fellow heroes and villains.

Conquest Mode and Massive 18v18 Battles

Get ready for all-out chaos in the new 18 vs 18 Conquest (Annihilation) mode, launching November 27. This massive-scale mode introduces the Grand Garden map, where 36 players battle for control and survival. It’s one of Marvel Rivals’ largest and most ambitious modes yet, promising non-stop action and strategic depth.

Season 5 also introduces a Competitive Placement System, laying the foundation for future ranked play improvements. Players can look forward to more details as the competitive structure evolves throughout the season.

Cross-Platform Progression and Anniversary Rewards

In one of the community’s most-requested updates, cross-platform progression arrives in Season 5 — letting players carry their progress seamlessly across platforms.

As Marvel Rivals turns one year old, the celebration kicks off on November 27 with anniversary events packed with exclusive rewards:

  • 2,500 Units for all players
  • A free Legendary Jeff costume
  • Anniversary-themed outfits, including Cake Party-inspired looks and community-voted designs

University players can also participate in the Costume Trial Program, unlocking 10 exclusive outfits by verifying their school email addresses.

More PvE Adventures on the Horizon

Following the success of the Marvel Zombies mode, the development team confirmed that new PvE content is already in production for 2026. These updates promise to expand the Marvel Multiverse even further, giving players more ways to experience their favorite heroes and villains beyond PvP combat.
