MLBB Esports

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is entering one of the most ambitious chapters in its esports history. During the M7 World Championship Grand Finals in Jakarta, MOONTON Games officially revealed the 2026 MLBB Esports Roadmap, outlining a sweeping five-region overhaul, historic international milestones, and record-breaking viewership that cements MLBB as the world’s most-watched mobile esport.

From bringing the M Series to Europe for the first time to debuting on the global sporting stage, MLBB’s vision for 2026 signals a bold push toward worldwide esports dominance.

M8 World Championship Makes Historic Move to Europe

The headline announcement confirms that the M8 World Championship Grand Finals will take place in Türkiye in January 2027, marking the first time the M Series is hosted in Europe. In parallel, the M8 Wild Card tournament will debut in Thailand, becoming the country’s first-ever M Series event.

Revealed by Cloud Zhang, Chief Executive Officer of MOONTON Games, the announcement underscores MLBB’s transition from a regional powerhouse to a truly global esport.

A Five-Region Esports Ecosystem for 2026

At the core of the 2026 MLBB Esports Roadmap is a newly unified five-region competitive structure, designed to balance regional growth with global integration. The five regions include:

  • Southeast Asia (SEA)
  • Eastern Europe & Central Asia (EECA)
  • Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)
  • East Asia (EA)
  • Americas (AMER)

This framework aims to strengthen local ecosystems while connecting regions under one global competitive vision. Central to this strategy is the Championship Tour, a new intercontinental tournament piloting across AMER, EA, and SEA, built to elevate regional competition and spotlight emerging talent.

MLBB Steps Onto the Global Sporting Stage

MLBB Esports is also breaking new ground beyond traditional esports arenas. The title has been confirmed as:

  • The first game featured at the inaugural Esports Nations Cup (ENC) 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where 32 national teams will compete from November 23 to 29
  • A medalled esports event at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, placing MLBB alongside traditional international sports

These milestones reflect MLBB’s growing recognition as a competitive discipline with cultural and national significance.

Record-Breaking M7 World Championship Viewership

The M7 World Championship rewrote esports history. According to Esports Charts, the tournament reached a staggering 5.68 million Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV) during the Grand Finals, officially becoming the most-watched mobile esports event of all time.

The finals saw Aurora Gaming PH (RORA) defeat Indonesia’s Alter Ego Esports in a dominant 4–0 sweep, securing the Philippines’ sixth M Series world title. For RORA, it marked a dream debut—winning a world championship in their first M Series Grand Finals appearance.

The tournament ran from January 3 to January 25 in Jakarta, marking MLBB’s return to Indonesia for the M Series since M4 and reinforcing the country’s status as the heartland of MLBB fandom.

MLBB Esports Eyes Unprecedented 2026 Growth

MOONTON Games’ ambitions for 2026 are staggering. The company is targeting:

  • Expansion across more than 70 regions
  • Hosting over 5,000 esports events globally
  • Surpassing 600 million Hours Watched in a single year

These goals build on MLBB’s decade-long success, which includes over 1.5 billion lifetime installations and 110 million Monthly Active Users worldwide.

Magic Chess: Go Go Joins the Global Spotlight

Alongside the M7, Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) reached a major milestone with the GO1 World Championship, its first offline global tournament. EECA’s Emil “FLOXY” Sagetdinov emerged as the inaugural world champion, as the event set a new peak viewership record for the title.

MCGG’s presence alongside the M Series highlights MOONTON Games’ broader strategy to grow multiple competitive ecosystems under the MLBB esports umbrella.

A Defining Moment for Mobile Esports

From record-shattering viewership to historic firsts in Europe and global sports competitions, MLBB Esports’ 2026 roadmap represents a defining moment not just for the franchise—but for mobile esports as a whole.

As the M Series prepares to take center stage in Türkiye and beyond, MLBB continues to prove that mobile esports can command the world’s biggest stages.
