Tokyo Game Show 2025 delivered a monster-sized surprise today as TiMi Studio Group and Capcom unveiled a brand-new trailer for Monster Hunter Outlanders. The upcoming mobile title, set to launch on iOS and Android, transports hunters to the mysterious island of Aesoland—introducing fresh mechanics, new allies, and the series’ signature large-scale battles.
First Look at Aesoland and the Adventurer
The newly released trailer showcased Aesoland, a vibrant island packed with dangerous ecosystems and unique crafting opportunities. Players will step into the shoes of the “Adventurer,” the game’s default protagonist, while meeting a diverse cast of allies known as Adventurers—each with their own abilities to aid in the hunt.
Crafting will play a major role in exploration, letting players adapt to different terrains, uncover hidden items, and unlock new perspectives across the island. The trailer also highlighted the introduction of Radiant Species, formidable monsters altered by the island’s unique mineral, Radiantite. These creatures boast enhanced aggression and abilities, offering hunters a fresh challenge.
New Buddies, Familiar Companions
Fans of the series will be glad to see Palico return, but Outlanders also introduces new companions: Rutaco and Trillan. These buddies each feature distinct personalities, appearances, and abilities, and can be trained to become even more dependable allies on hunts.
Demo at TGS and Closed Beta in November
Attendees at Tokyo Game Show 2025 can get hands-on with the very first demo of Monster Hunter Outlanders at both the Level Infinite and Capcom booths. For players outside Japan, TiMi Studio Group also announced that Closed Beta recruitment has begun, with tests scheduled for November in select regions. Hunters eager to join can sign up via the official Monster Hunter Outlanders website.
Simple Controls, Classic Thrills
While designed for mobile, Outlanders stays true to the Monster Hunter spirit. Battles use streamlined controls that allow hunters to unleash familiar moves with a single button press—making the game more accessible without sacrificing the thrill of the hunt.
A Fresh Chapter for Monster Hunter Fans
Capcom Producer Genki Sunano expressed excitement about the project, stating: “We’re thrilled for fans to jump in and experience the franchise in a new and exciting way.” With its mix of familiar hunting mechanics, new companions, and innovative Radiant Species, Monster Hunter Outlanders promises to expand the series’ reach to a whole new audience.
