MOONTON Games, the studio behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), has teamed up with Esports Integrated (ESI) under Malaysia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) to launch the Guru Juara MOONTON Masterclass. This pioneering initiative aims to empower primary school teachers with digital game-based learning strategies and esports management skills to better engage students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The programme, supported by the Selangor State Public Library Corporation (PPAS) and primary school educators across Selangor, marks a milestone in bridging education with the rapidly growing esports industry.
Empowering Teachers for the Digital Age
Announced during a press conference on September 11 at Sri Putra Hall, Bukit Jalil—also the venue for MLBB Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 16—the Masterclass underscores MOONTON’s vision of integrating esports into classrooms as a tool for both learning and student development.
The half-day workshops will focus on two major areas:
- Digital Game Competition Management
Teachers will learn practical skills to run structured game competitions, fostering a healthy esports ecosystem within schools. - TinkerCad 3D Design Training
Educators will gain hands-on experience with 3D design tools, equipping them to guide students in creativity-driven STEM activities.
Upon completion, participants will receive an official certificate co-signed by MOONTON Games and ESI, giving teachers the authority to nominate student teams for future tournaments, including the Selangor State Under-12 MLBB Tournament in December 2025.
Building a Bridge Between Education and Esports
MOONTON Games sees this programme as a long-term investment in digital literacy and youth development.
“Teachers have told us that hosting esports tournaments helps them connect with students and reward positive behavior,” said Deon Moh, Head of Publishing Strategy Alignment at MOONTON Games. “The Guru Juara MOONTON Masterclass represents our commitment to empowering educators with the tools they need to prepare the next generation for a tech-driven world.”
Adding to this, Ahmed Faris Amir, CEO of Impact Integrated, emphasized the value of targeting educators directly:
“The best way to reach students is through their teachers. Guru Juara is bold and the right step forward. We hope more game publishers and industry leaders will join in developing a sustainable esports ecosystem for schools.”
