With one last week remaining in the regular season of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH), both sides of the standings are in a race: to finish the season as the top seed and to fend off elimination with one team already bidding goodbye: AP Bren.

Here’s the summary of the matches over the weekend:

Twisted Minds Stays Alive in Playoff Race with Sweep Over AP.Bren

Twisted Minds kept their playoff hopes alive with a dominant 2-0 sweep of AP.Bren on Saturday. Coming off a tough 1-2 loss to Smart Omega just a day earlier, Twisted Minds bounced back with authority, overwhelming an AP.Bren squad that sat at the bottom of the standings with a 1-9 record heading into the match.

Aurora Drops Omega to Do-or-Die Match Against AP.Bren

Aurora secured a swift 2-0 sweep against Smart Omega, further solidifying their playoff spot, improving their chances at locking in an upper bracket spot. Edward “Edward” Dapadap utilized Esmeralda, marking the first time the hero has been used in this tournament, and garnered eight assists in the opening game. Renejay “Renejay” Bacarse ensured the series went in Aurora’s favor with his Chou, achieving a 2/1/8 KDA in 16 minutes and 48 seconds.

ONIC PH Thwarts Team Liquid’s Comeback, Climbs to Third

ONIC Philippines denied a reverse sweep attempt by Team Liquid Philippines, winning 2-1 to move up to the third seed in the standings. The Supar Family managed to flip the script in Game 3 after Team Liquid made a crucial error on the side of the Cavalry that gave the win to the defending champions.

Aurora Inches Closer to Upper Bracket Spot, Outlasts TNC

Aurora Philippines moved one step closer to securing an upper bracket spot with a hard-fought 2-1 series victory over TNC Pro Team on Sunday. Aurora has a chance to earn the upper bracket advantage if they win their showdown against Team Liquid Philippines on May 3. Meanwhile, TNC Pro Team, locked into the fifth seed, will face Team Liquid in the opening match of Week 8.

ONIC Philippines Eliminates AP.Bren from Playoff Contention

The defending champions are on a win streak as they secured their ninth win of the tournament, defeating AP.Bren 2-0 in dominant fashion and seeing the elimination of the Hive for the season. With two games remaining on their schedule, ONIC still has a chance to climb into the upper bracket while AP.Bren will have a chance to thwart Omega’s playoff hopes when they meet on May 2.
