MANILA – Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH) has officially locked in the No. 1 seed for the MPL Philippines (MPL PH) Season 15 playoffs, wrapping up their regular season with a commanding 2-0 sweep of Aurora while ONIC Philippines and AP Bren secured crucial wins that push the battle for second seed to the final day of the season.
Fueled by redemption after an earlier loss to Aurora, Team Liquid PH showed no mercy in their rematch. In an intense 26-minute Game 1, Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya’s relentless pressure from the backlines opened up a clean team wipe that included a double kill from Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s Lucas that propelled the Cavalry to victory.
TLPH sustained their dominance in the second match with KarlTzy leading the charge. The young GOAT delivered a standout performance, finishing with an impressive 8-1-10 KDA as the team closed the series in just 12 minutes—cementing their place at the top of the standings and ensuring a spot in the upper bracket.
In the second series of the day, ONIC Philippines kept their upper bracket aspirations alive after edging out Smart Omega in a nail-biting 2-1 series. Omega struck first with a lopsided win in Game 1, thanks to Jomari “Jowm” Pingol’s Bruno, which culminated in a maniac during the closing clash.
But ONIC flipped the momentum in Game 2 with outplays and disciplined team fights. A pivotal moment came during a 14-minute base siege, where Duane “Kelra” Pillas on Wanwan secured a double kill that helped shift control to the Super Family. Kelra followed up in the decider, this time on Harith, pulling off a crucial triple kill on defense to shut down Omega’s comeback efforts and deliver the series win.
Closing the day, AP.Bren salvaged a hard-fought 2-1 reverse sweep against Team Falcons PH to finish their season strong. After a tough loss in the opener, where Super Marco (Beatrix) powered Falcons to victory with an 8-1-3 scoreline, AP.Bren stormed back in Games 2 and 3.
James “JamesPangks” Mendoza anchored the comeback with back-to-back standout showings on Leomord. In Game 2, his pinpoint engagement helped shut down Falcons’ backline threats, while a clutch Lord take set up the equalizer. The momentum carried into Game 3, where AP.Bren dominated to seal the reverse sweep and end their campaign at 3-11—falling just short of the postseason due to tiebreakers.
The regular season of MPL Philippines Season 15 will see ONIC Philippines against Twisted Minds while Aurora will face off against Team Falcons PH. Both matches are crucial to see who will join Team Liquid Philippines in the upper bracket.
