Sharpen your steel — the ninja wars are back. Dotemu and The Game Kitchen have officially announced that NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound, a bold new chapter in the iconic franchise, will launch digitally on July 31, 2025, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox.
The new trailer, revealed during the PlayStation State of Play, showcases fast-paced 2D side-scrolling combat with deadly precision and supernatural threats, all wrapped in rich pixel art and a soundtrack loaded with nostalgia. And the wait to try it? Not long. A free playable demo will be available during Steam Next Fest from June 9–16.

NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound picks up immediately after the events of the original NES trilogy. The world teeters on the brink as a rift opens between the human and demon realms, ushering in a tide of darkness.
With Ryu Hayabusa on a personal journey, players step into the sandals of Kenji Mozu, a promising ninja from the Hayabusa Clan, and Kumori, a deadly kunoichi from the rival Black Spider Clan. These two must put aside their ancestral differences to combat the demonic threat and unlock forbidden techniques that bind their powers — and destinies — together.
