During the latest NGS Headline WAVE, SEGA confirmed that new seasonal events, combat sectors, limited-time quests, and high-rarity gear upgrades will begin rolling out starting January 1, 2026.
With the Second Half of the Super Genesis Festival ’25, new Alter Realm combat content, and powerful equipment upgrades on the way, PSO2: NGS is set to start the new year strong.
Super Genesis Festival ’25 Returns on January 1, 2026
The Second Half of the Super Genesis Festival ’25 begins on January 1, bringing New Year celebrations to Central City. Festive decorations, winter-themed Region Mags, and seasonal enemies will transform Halpha to welcome 2026.
Fan-favorite enemies Raguo Rappy and Raguo Great Rappy will appear during the event, adding both charm and rewards to the festivities. Meanwhile, Navigator Xiandy dons her New Year attire and investigates unusual enemy activity across Halpha, offering players new dialogue and story flavor.
Super Genesis Festival Rewards
Players can exchange Seasonal Points for a wide range of items, including:
- Build Parts such as Rice Cake Making and Zoni Soup
- Deser Gunblade accessory modeled after enemy weapons
- N-EX-Cubes and Tech Arts Customization items
- Super Genesis Festival ’25 SP Scratch Tickets
Limited-time Tasks and Title Tasks will also be available, rewarding items such as TA Customization Disc X/Omni, N-Master Cubes, and Arms Refiner II.
Altered Battle Line: Tundra Area Gorge Arrives January 7
On January 7, 2026, PSO2: NGS expands its Alter Realm Exploration with Altered Battle Line: Tundra Area Gorge, a new Combat Sector focused on high-intensity encounters and environmental hazards.
Players must trigger PSE Bursts and defeat powerful High Enemies during PSE Climaxes. New Trials, including Arklan Disruption Zone Enemy Suppression and Raid Area Enemy Suppression, introduce damaging environmental objects that can also be used strategically against enemies.
Two new Player Ability Buffs are also being added, both activating powerful effects when using Sidestep, encouraging more dynamic combat movement.
Limited-time Tasks tied to this update will reward Super Genesis Festival ’25 SP Scratch Tickets, N-Master Cubes, and additional upgrade materials.
Drill: Luther Trigger Quest Launches January 7
Also arriving on January 7, Drill: Luther, Emergent Created Conqueror becomes available as a Trigger Quest. This version adapts the previously released Urgent Quest into a repeatable challenge.
Quest Triggers can be purchased from the N-Meseta Treasure Shop until February 4, 2026. Players can access the quest through Limited-Time Quests from January 7 to February 4, after which it will move to the Trigger Quest category permanently.
New Limited-Time Quest: Drill: Three-Way Race Starts January 21
The Limited-Time Quest: Drill: Three-Way Race launches on January 21, 2026, introducing a large-scale cooperative challenge for up to 12 ARKS Defenders.
Players are split into three lanes and must defeat enemies to weaken a powerful boss in the final area. Team coordination within each lane is key, as enemy defeats directly reduce the boss’s health.
Limited-time and Title Tasks will accompany the quest, rewarding Titles and Super Genesis Festival ’25 SP Scratch Tickets.
14-Star Fortscha Armor Upgrades Introduced
PSO2: NGS is also expanding its endgame gear progression with 14-star rarity armor upgrades.
Players can upgrade 13-star Fortscha Armor into one of two 14-star options:
- Belfes Armor, offering higher HP and PP
- Belfes Armor: Vio, trading HP for a larger PP boost
Both armor sets provide:
- 8% Weapon Potency increase
- Additional Damage Resistance
The required upgrade material, Fortasvance, can be obtained in Altered Battle Line: Tundra Area Gorge, making the new combat sector essential for gear-focused players.
