Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate Kaho Shibuya DLC Launches September 4 on All Platforms

Rocket Panda Games has officially announced that the Kaho Shibuya DLC for Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU) will release worldwide on September 4, 2025 for PC and consoles.

This long-awaited DLC introduces a brand-new playable character—Kaho Shibuya, the Japanese pop culture icon and cosplayer—bringing her own unique charm, humor, and magical bread-based powers to the side-scrolling beat ‘em up.


Kaho Shibuya Joins the Fight

In this quirky yet action-packed expansion, Kaho transforms into a magical girl who fights with the powers of cuteness and bread. Both adorable and deadly, she adds a refreshing twist to the chaos of Battle Grounds Ultimate.

Highlights of the DLC include:

  • New Playable Character – Kaho Shibuya, voiced by herself in both English and Japanese
  • New Stage: Anime-Convention LA – A fictional Los Angeles, reimagined for anime convention season
  • New Enemy Mobs – Four additional enemy types to challenge players
  • New Stage BGM – Featuring “WiSH”, the latest single from Phantom Breakers with Kaho Shibuya as guest vocalist
  • Special Collaborations – Fun cameos including LA’s Okamoto Kitchen food truck and Japan’s Latte Pocket 3D latte art shop

The DLC also doubles as a musical crossover. Its new stage is set to the track “WiSH” feat. Kaho Shibuya, now streaming on all major platforms. The upbeat single not only fuels the gameplay but also strengthens the collaboration between Rocket Panda Games and its fans worldwide.

A Franchise with History

Originally debuting as a 2D fighting game in 2011 by 5pb/MAGES, the Phantom Breaker series expanded into the beat ’em up space with Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds in 2013. Rocket Panda Games has since revived and expanded the franchise, acquiring the IP in 2022 and releasing Phantom Breaker: Omnia, which featured beloved guest characters like Kurisu Makise (Steins;Gate) and Rimi Sakihata (Chaos;Head).

With the addition of Kaho Shibuya, Rocket Panda continues to push the series in fun and unexpected directions, delivering both nostalgia and fresh content for fans around the world.
