Publisher and developer Rocket Panda Games has revealed the exciting multiplayer features coming to Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU), launching on April 17 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Enhanced Features and Multiplayer Modes
Originally launched on Xbox 360, this beloved 2D side-scrolling action game returns to current systems, powered by Unreal Engine 5. Players can expect enhanced graphics, improved frame rates, higher resolutions, new characters, and a full soundtrack remaster. Enemies are now playable characters in Arcade Mode, adding to the excitement.
Multiplayer Madness
Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate offers a variety of multiplayer modes, both online and local. Up to 4 players can enjoy couch co-op sessions, or connect with 6 friends online with cross-platform multiplayer. For those who love competitive chaos, the online VS mode supports up to 8 players*.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on April 17, 2025. Players can wishlist the game and pre-order the Standard ($39.99, £34.99, €39.99) and Ultimate ($109.99 – Only available in the US) physical editions.
