The prehistoric race for survival is back. Pixeljam Games has officially announced the Kickstarter campaign for Dino Run 2, going live on September 2, 2025, with funding aimed at bringing the game’s Early Access launch in 2026.
The sequel reimagines the cult-classic prehistoric platformer, letting players outrun extinction in a pixel-art world of peril, charm, and chaotic fun.
Race, Customize, and Survive
In Dino Run 2, players must escape an apocalyptic wall of doom while choosing from a cast of specialized dinosaurs, each with unique traits. The game also offers deep customization, letting you tweak every scale, claw, and color with an expansive library of visual mods.
Multiplayer Sandbox Available Now
As a major preview of the upcoming release, Pixeljam has already delivered the game’s first playable milestone to early supporters: a fully functional multiplayer sandbox.
This sandbox mode features:
- Online and LAN Multiplayer
- Worldbuilding Tools
- Custom Netcode that runs without servers, ensuring long-term playability
All Kickstarter backers pledging $10 or more will get instant access to this sandbox—even before the campaign goal is reached.
Built to Last, Funded by Fans
Pixeljam plans to develop Dino Run 2 in stages, using Kickstarter funding to fuel its Early Access debut in 2026. The multiplayer sandbox offers a taste of the systems that will shape the final game, from cooperative building to competitive racing.
Fans can already wishlist the game on Steam and follow the Kickstarter campaign ahead of launch.
