Trainers and museum enthusiasts alike are in for a treat as Pokémon teams up with the Natural History Museum in London for a spectacular pop-up celebrating the wonders of nature and Pokémon ecology. Running from 26 January to 19 April 2026, the Pokécology-themed pop-up has already sold out due to overwhelming demand, offering fans a rare chance to explore the intersection of Pokémon, science, and art.
Pikachu at the Museum: Exclusive Oversize TCG Card
One of the highlights of the event is the oversize Pokémon TCG Promo Card, featuring Pikachu at the Museum. This collectible card will be given as a gift with purchase at the pop-up and, starting 30 January 2026, at select UK retailers. Fans can secure their own piece of history while supplies last, though the card will not be available online, making in-person attendance or retail visits essential.
A Celebration of Nature: The Pokécology Theme
The pop-up’s theme, Pokécology, draws inspiration from the acclaimed Japanese guide, Pokécology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokémon Ecology. It explores how Pokémon live, interact with environments, and adapt to habitats ranging from forests and rivers to caves and deserts.
Visitors will experience:
- Artwork inspired by naturalist books and scientific illustrations
- Exclusive merchandise themed around the Natural History Museum’s architecture, including Hintze Hall and botanical ceilings
- Reimagined Pokémon designs, from Grass-types like Ivysaur and Victreebel to Water-, Bug-types, and Eevee evolutions
The pop-up offers a unique opportunity to see Pokémon through the lens of ecology, evolution, and environment, blending education and fandom in a visually stunning space.
Merchandise Galore: From Plushes to Posters
The event features a curated range of exclusive products, including:
- Pokémon plushes, pins, bags, and stationery
- Gold-plated decorations and posters
- Clothing inspired by Pokémon and the museum’s iconic interiors
Selected items will also be available online via the Natural History Museum shop from 26 January, while stocks last. Some products will launch on Pokémon Center UK in early February. Purchase limits will apply to ensure fair access for fans.
Supporting Science and Sustainability
All proceeds from the pop-up, including online sales, support the Natural History Museum’s scientific mission, helping fund research by 400 scientists tackling critical planetary challenges, from biodiversity loss to sustainable solutions for the green economy.
This initiative marks Pokémon’s first collaboration with a UK museum, blending education, fandom, and philanthropy in one immersive experience.
