KRAFTON has officially rolled out Update 35.2 for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS on PC, with the console release locked in for May 22, 2025. As part of the developer’s ongoing 2025 roadmap, this major update signals a bold step forward for the battle royale titan—bringing destructible terrain to Taego, fresh tactical gear, and efforts to unify gameplay across all maps.
Here’s everything you need to know about the latest patch that’s reshaping the Battlegrounds.
🌋 Destructible Terrain Comes to Taego — Reshape the Battlefield
In perhaps the most dramatic gameplay addition since the introduction of tactical gear, Taego now features destructible terrain. Grenades, C4, mortars, and the powerful Panzerfaust can now permanently alter the environment during a match. Want to create new lines of sight, dig in for defense, or flush out an enemy hiding in cover? Now you can quite literally reshape the map to fit your strategy.
KRAFTON is also introducing a Pickaxe, which lets players dig manually and modify terrain quietly—perfect for stealthy setups or clever ambushes. This addition pushes PUBG deeper into tactical sandbox territory, where smart plays and map control matter more than ever.
🧰 New Tactical Tools: Vehicle Camouflage and Expanded Loot Mechanics
Update 35.2 isn’t just about blowing things up. It’s also about smart survival.
- Vehicle Camouflage Netting: Now available on Erangel and Miramar, this new item allows players to disguise parked vehicles, reducing visibility to enemies. Whether you’re hiding out in a sniper nest or laying a trap, it adds a stealthy edge to vehicular gameplay.
- Vending Machines Now on More Maps: Previously limited to Miramar, Vending Machines now appear on Erangel and Taego too. Players will find either Boost or Medical Vending Machines randomly placed in key buildings—offering a convenient way to grab supplies or, if you’re lucky, hit the jackpot.
- Destructible Pots on Erangel: A looting mechanic borrowed from other maps, destructible pots are now placed around Erangel and may contain valuable gear.
⚖️ Gameplay and Item Balancing Updates
Update 35.2 also includes important reworks and quality-of-life improvements:
- C4 Reworked: No longer a simple throw-and-stick explosive. It now requires a 4-second deployment, making placement riskier and more strategic.
- Inflatable Boat Buff: With a full squad aboard, this watercraft now travels faster. The boat’s inventory weight has also been adjusted for better usability.
- Flare Gun Overhaul: Improved tooltips, clearer UI indicators, and radio messages help clarify when and how to use the Flare Gun effectively.
These changes aim to balance powerful gear while reinforcing PUBG’s core identity—risk vs. reward.
🧭 Unifying Gameplay Across Maps
In a clear push toward streamlining player experience, KRAFTON continues its initiative to unify systems and features across all battlegrounds. From loot distribution to utility mechanics, the goal is to make each map feel unique while still familiar—reducing the learning curve and allowing players to focus on strategy rather than memorization.
📅 When Can Console Players Jump In?
While PC players can experience all of this now, console players won’t have to wait long. PUBG Update 35.2 drops on Xbox and PlayStation platforms on May 22, 2025, bringing all the explosive and tactical content to the full player base.
