The Pokémon Company International has thrilled fans with the announcement of the latest expansion for the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), titled Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together. Set to launch on March 28, 2025, this expansion will be available at participating retailers worldwide, including the Pokémon Center, the premier online destination for official Pokémon merchandise.
One of the most anticipated features of this expansion is the return of Trainer’s Pokémon cards, first introduced in the Pokémon TCG: Gym Heroes expansion. These special cards highlight the unique bond between a Pokémon Trainer and their Pokémon, with each card proudly displaying the Trainer’s name. This exciting reintroduction was initially revealed during the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, creating a buzz among the TCG community.
Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together will feature a variety of new Trainer’s Pokémon cards, including N’s Zoroark ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Iono’s Bellibolt ex, and Hop’s Zacian ex. Players can also look forward to discovering unique artwork featuring various Trainers in illustration rare, ultra rare, special illustration rare, and hyper rare cards.

Players can find Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and various collections at Pokémon Center and participating retailers worldwide. Select products from the expansion are now available for preorder at Pokémon Center in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., including the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box and the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Enhanced Booster Display Box, which includes a bonus illustration rare-style card featuring N’s Reshiram with the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together logo.
For those eager to get a head start, Pokémon TCG players will have the opportunity to play with Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together before its official launch by attending one of the many Prerelease tournaments held as part of the Play! Pokémon program. These events will begin on March 15 at participating independent retailers.
Additionally, ahead of the release of the tabletop version, Trainers will be able to play with Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together digitally starting March 27, 2025, via the Pokémon TCG Live app for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows devices. Players can collect and battle with new Trainer’s Pokémon cards and receive in-game bonuses when logging in to the app.
